That's some good detail that's molded in there Kyle. Jo-Han kits were a mix of good and bad all in the same box sometimes. I've built their Maverick and it had excellent molding on the body and great detail on the engine but the chassis and interior were terrible. This one here looks like they put some good time and effort into the molding process.
This is some good progress so far bud.

Such a unique kit. Don't see the "old" kits come around very often. Nice start.

This one here looks like they put some good time and effort into the molding process. This is some good progress so far bud. Yes, I know Jo-Han has a reputation of kits that are a bit of a mixed bag. This one is from 1967 and appears to be one of their strong offerings. Fit and engineering has been top notch so far. Thanks for stopping by. Four colors?!? I really like what I am seeing! You are off to a great start. Yeah Andy, I figure in 1931 only the super over the top wealthy could have afforded this so I went with a super over the top paint scheme. It may be one too many but I'm happy with it. Sweet! Watching for more Kyle! Thank you! Lol. Thanks for checking it out. Such a unique kit. Don't see the "old" kits come around very often. Nice start. I love getting into old kits. They're not always the best but I enjoy getting that look back at the hobby. And thank you! Sweet. I have their 31 Cadillac sport phaeton in the works. Excellent! I tried to buy that one first and even won one in a good deal on ebay last year. But then the seller messaged back and said that the tires and wheels were all missing and he hadn't noticed it prior to listing it. He mailed me this instead, which was still sealed. Nothing beats cracking into some 1967 packaging. Glorious. I'd still like to build the sport phaeton as well. Post yours up on here!

Alright, well the cane decals are installed and I have to say, I am plenty happy with them. Maybe they don't quite stand out as much as the cane work on the 1:1 car but they do add a bit of interest. This is not shelved, but at my least priority as I try to finish up some Christmas present builds. Here are a couple photos of the cane work. More soon

Nice look... nice texture!!! Perfect natural look to it Kyle. Thank you guys! I originally didnāt know how I was going to replicate the cane work and thought about going with a polished metal as something different. Glad I decided to try this way.

It looks great, Kyle! Its great to see that you are serious about replicating a precise model!

It looks great, Kyle! Its great to see that you are serious about replicating a precise model! Thanks guys. The 1:1 car of this is literally just that. Only one of them exists with this coachwork and it is a reproduction of the original using an existing limousine chassis. Since the car doesn't really exist I have taken artistic license. But I did really want to replicate the gorgeous cane work of the original. This is as close as I can come.

Got a bit more progress this morning. Engine is done and installed in the chassis as is the front suspension. This essentially completes the chassis and allows me to move onto the interior and building wheel and tire sets and whatnot. I put together a tire and a spare with cover just for fun before I shut it down for this morning. Not sure when I'll get back to this yet but hopefully soon.

Holy cow! Hard to believe that this is a kit that originated in the 60s.

Holy cow! Hard to believe that this is a kit that originated in the 60s. I agree. It is a really well engineered kit so far. With some nice molding and detail. Even the sprue gates were very small. I'd like to get a version with different coachwork and build another sometime.

Looking good, Kyle! The engine and frame look very similar to mine. Is that a Testors or Italeri kit?

Great job so far Kyle! Iām really digging the cane decals. They look so real.š Thank you! I'm pretty tickled about how that went as well. Great progress Kyle! I like the contrast of the blue spoked rims with the wide whitewall tire. Thank you!! I wanted this to be bright but in a 1930s way. Looking good, Kyle! The engine and frame look very similar to mine. Is that a Testors or Italeri kit? Thank you! This one is a Jo-Han kit from the mid 1960s. It's a pretty nicely detailed kit so far. It looks like your 1933 shares the same engine as this one and Italeri looks like they've done a nice job reproducing it too!

Well, I got the fender assembly mounted to the chassis. Everything is going fine so far. I had painted the interior quite a while ago and its just been sitting. I mocked it up today. Complete with the front seat and driver/passenger partition. All looks like its going to work fine. Just need to finish adding some wood grain to the partition. I forgot to put that steering column on there before the engine, so I caused myself a headache there. Its all in there now. And looking good put together. I also need to add the center caps to the wheels. Finally, one last step I took was to add some gold dry brushing to the detailed upholstery on the rear seat. I was attempting to make it look like it was gold thread. More soon, I hope.
