Pretty amazing, do you work from whats in your minds eye to get the creases and folds in the cloth or do you work from a picture ?

Pretty amazing, do you work from whats in your minds eye to get the creases and folds in the cloth or do you work from a picture ? This is what I think looks right, but there are also plenty figure modelling reference books and info online. The best refence for this is every day stuff as you only need to look at film, photo or real life to see how clothes crease.

I have not had a lot of bench time lately. Here is the final crew figure painted and ready to go on the Diorama.

I am really pleased with how this figure looks with the gun muzzle cover being pulled off.

The muzzle cover was made from Evergreen styrene tube, slightly larger diameter than the gun. The tube wall was thinned and cut to length and a circle of styrene card glued on the end. Then I added a handle made from lead foil strip 1mm wide and looped to make the handle. The strap is made from the metal foil tube from a tomato purée tube. I cut off the ends and flattened it out. Then cut a 1mm strip, and glued this to the muzzle cover. This metal foil is strong enough to support the weight of the muzzle cover. This was then primed with metal primer and the whole thing painted with Vallejo brown sand. The inside of the muzzle cover was painted Vallejo German CAMO Black and the outside dry brushed with is the then a lighter tone mixing Brown Sand in.

And the good work continues onward!! Great idea on that tomato puree tube and the way you worked into shape for what we all see here. What did you use for the shadowing/ wear effects on that strap? Some really good "outside of the box" thinking on that bud.
