Hi all; well before I move onto another wingy build I'm jumping back on the armor train. This time with something a bit more modern. Stay tuned. -Bob

SWEET! But... Is "Desertised" really a word? About as much as “tropicalized” is a word…

Well been a bit of a delay posting. I had intended to get all of this up on Saturday/Sunday. As I was leaving for work on Monday morning I slipped at the top of the stairs, fell on the non carpeted stairs......and yes......broke the tailbone....AGAIN! Oh and add I chipped the bone in my left forearm.....WooHoo. So hobbling along, still wont deter me from getting in the woods for the last week of hunting season (yes my wife is not to happy about that). The kit is another Tamiya joy to build. Everything starts off with the lower tub and running gear. No major issues at all. I did find it funny that Tamiya has you fit he torsion arms to the road wheels then mount to the hull. This I am assuming is to ensure that all the wheels are on the ground once cured. I opted to go the normal rout and mount the arms first. Once all that is in place it was time to get moving on the side skirts, front reactive armor and rear hull. All are multi part affairs but once again no fit issues. I left the jerry can and water can separate as to paint the rack off the model and add later as will the side skirts. Fuel drums will be cleaned up next. next up is te turret assembly. -Bob

Ouch! It sounds painful!!! Hope you feel better soon. Just keep inhaling the cement fume to make the pain go away!
Your Challenger is looking sharp! Keep it coming…

Coming together great! If you lived close by you could come over and we could split a bottle of Makers Mark... I have a slipped disc pinching off my spinal cord about 3/4 of the way.. I hope you feel better soon. With a broken tail bone there is no position that's comfortable

Ouch. Sorry to hear about that. Painful injury for anyone. Hopefully it heals up quick. No doubt single malt makes everything better. Off to a nice start on this one.

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR to all So over the past week I have been able in-between all the goings on with the holidays to get things moving on the Challenger. - Primed in my usual Mr. Surfacer 1500 black - laid down base coat of XF-59 desert yellow - Highlighted with XF-59 lightened up with some XF-2 - Rubber band tracks done - Clear coat laid down - Decals on - Side skirts mounted Next up some weathering and filtering. -Bob

Tony - Id does make it pop. Much more to do on the filter dies of the house but not much. once the flat coat goes on there wil be another pop of shade detail.

Looks like you nearly "finishized" it. I agree the black primer brings the detail out wonderfully
