Those machineguns look fantastic! That was such a cool project and unusual too! I like the wood stand as it is now, but that's a matter of taste. Folks might enjoy seeing my submachinegun in action. It's a Sten MkII, with myself and my first cousin Thomas, on the trigger.
Yours truly:
My cousin having a go; as an old Vietnam "jungle fighter", he had a close relationship with automatic weapons! This was my service weapon as a Canadian Army vehicle operator in the 1970's. I pumped untold thousands of rounds through the poor old things. That's a Sterling subgun, right? Very cool indeed! 😎 It doesn't take long to run up a pretty high ammo "bill" with these things. Thirty rounds in 4 seconds and time for a reload! 😄

The big difference is that several of the parts on the Sterling were cast but the C1 used stamped metal instead. Made it lighter but even less accurate. When you consider the Sterling wasn't all that accurate to start with that is saying something. Was a true "Spray and Pray" weapon. We used them for vehicle crews well into the eighties.

I just have to comment on it a second time. This is just such a crazy looking job of weathering and painting! It looks so real.

Want it to look good but also want it to compliment the finish on the guns not overshadow them. At this point it is looking like I will just do one more coat of gloss to bring up the natural finish of the wood and tie the labels in so they look less like stickers.
