The Tamiya kit is noted for being a pleasant, trouble-free build. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing!
I think the underwing bulges are fairings for the wing mounted cannon, or maybe hardpoints for ordnance. The 20mm gondola gun packs were huge and rather deep.
