Some really good progress on this and am glad you found that fairing and didn't step on it. My luck would've been just that......
I'm glad you're doing this variant as I don't think I've ever seen it built before.

The nose looks so different Yeah these V-1's were definitely out of the ordinary looks for the day as well as out of the norm of how we view a 190.

All the basic colors are on and the registration letters on on the bottom. Colors are 70/71/65.

Looks great John--paint scheme reminds me of those special forces tiger stripe uniforms from Vietnam war.

This went together very well, was there much in the way of filling needed?
Great paint also

Man that was quick! Very nice looking build there John! Thanks for the spinning prop shot Side by side between the V-1 and A-3, it looks like they got most of the design right early on... aside from the engine cooling issues

Man, you made short work on a tricky resin kit. Excellent finish!

What they all said. Quite impressive, both builds and the short time they were completed in. Did you ever get any traction on that Panther?

All right! You are first with THE first Fw-190! Well done!
I have time this evening, so I'd better get on my build!

Thanks, everyone. For a resin kit this was an easy build, almost like plastic. Don't be afraid to try this one if you can find one.
The Panther is still in the build que. I had trouble with the 3D printed track set so I looked around and found something to replace them but they are not here yet. $50 saddle on a $2 horse!

Nicely done! It's a stubby looking aircraft. I hadn't realized how much shorter the wings were until you placed it next to your later A variant.

This is the first one of these that I've ever seen built up John and thank you for taking us through this journey with us to build it. In looking at the two birds' side by side, I couldn't help but notice how much shorter the wingspan is on the V-1 vs. the A-3. Obviously, there were a few changes that happened between the variants other than the nose change. A great finish on this beauty and am glad that you were in the GB with us man.

Thanks for all the interest, friends. I still wish we had a thread for finished builds for this GB. There has been so much interest and so many excellent models have been built.

Got all red dog on this one today, every time I thought I should wait a bit more for what I just painted to dry the devil on my shoulder said go for it. Other than having trouble with getting the glue to hold on the right stabilizer and having to repaint the swastika on the left side because some black crept under the masking, things worked out well. Hataka was used for the 65, Model Master for the 70/71, and Tamiya for all the markings. Masks cut on my Cameo for the markings after drawing them up in Autocad. I just taped off the splinter pattern using resized drawings from the instructions to lay them out. A few brain twisters involved in that but I think I got it right. Let me know! Mark, the fit on this kit is very good, although with resin there is always a bit here and there to puzzle out how things fit and this one was no exception. Very little filler, mainly just on the bottom on the front and rear wing joins. Also the fuselage seams needed a little attention, but very little. The wing root to fuselage fit was too tight but a little careful sanding on both sides and attention to fitting the cockpit tub took care of that. And for Carlos there is a spinning prop photo. After that a couple with the V1 next to the A3 I just finished. Great photos John! I'm a big fan of the context shots with other members of the family.
