Ok Andrew, I'm gonna need you to slow the hell down with all these purchases. You're making the rest of us look bad. Oh let him be. I am living vicariously through his purchases.

Been the final set of purchases for quite some time. I tell myself that with each purchase and each purchase I am wrong. 😭😂. I really should quit while I’m behind. Need to sell some of them that I’m less interested in at this point.

LOL Many joke about this, but it really is a thing. For the last 28 years my work has had very seasonal OT, and there are high and low OT years. Add in kids, car / home repairs and other unexpected cancellations of disposable income and I have had periods where buying new kits was unwise. During those times I got by pretty well just "shopping" in the stash. When you factor in that many of the kits in the stash were bought at a discount you can almost make a rational financial argument for having a stash.

Not to mention these kits are not getting any cheaper. I buy the kits I want when the price is low enough for me not to feel bad about it. Give it a year or two and I look at the prices and I'm like "cool, glad I got one before they were this much".

And then i tell the wife “but I saved 15 bucks over what they’re going for” 😂😂

Who knows what my financial situation will be, specially since my wife refuses to leave the bay area. And if the hobby were to decline, they would only get even more expensive.

You guys are killing it! I took the advice of MSC members and picked up a British Sherman in anticipation of the flail tank conversion kit that is supposedly coming in this month. I'm not a huge Sherman-o-holic, but the Sherman Crab flail tank has always captivated me. Although to be 100% honest, I DO like the Firefly, Jumbo, and M51 variants as well. The anime-looking girlie boxes contain 1/12 weapons (MG42 w/ saddle magazines & Panzerfausts). Now what the heck to people do with firearms in "dollhouse" scale? Little girls toting machineguns just seem so wrong... But I'm repurposing them for my Mobile Suits, he-he.

I’m working on my Japanese reading skills: 日本海軍が終戦隊に開発 試作まで 漕ぎ着けた、異形の局地戦闘機 “Developed by the Imperial Japanese Navy at the end of the war, this unusual local fighter aircraft made it to the prototype stage”. Couldn’t find a meaning for 震電 (shinden). The literal kanji translation is Earthquake (震), Electric (電)? Cool looking plane. Did you see Godzilla Minus One?

The Wiki article says Shinden = Magnificent Lighting, which sounds waaaaay better than Shaking Lightning! And I did see Gojira Mainasu Wan. The Shinden mockup they used was spectacular!

Ok chaps.....you had better sit down.....my latest arrivals do not include kits....that's right no kits!! Repeat NO kits!! ACW as usual! ATB Andrew --------------------------------- In visiting HMS Belfast I decided to join the Imperial War Museum. In addition to the 'main' museum it covers the Belfast, Duxford and the Churchill War Rooms - and so given that I can get to Central London and Duxford in a little over an hour, and I was going to the Belfast anyway, and I only need to visit three of them to more than get my money back it seemed to be the obvious thing to do and so this is the welcome pack. These are from a small model shop that visits a lot of the shows I go to in the local area. As well as kits they do a very nice side line in bespoke Kabuki tape markings both general and for individual planes and so given I have so many late war planes, I picked these up

When Sprue Bros has a sale and it's exactly what you need. Got some replacement props for the Orion (very fragile) and some intake covers for the Skyhawk.
