Saw this for fiffteen buck on Amazon. Never having heard the brand before I had to get one and see, and what I discovered was an Academy rebox. Given my experience with the last Academy kit I was not distressed at all I think it's pretty good. I'll finish it as the second decal option with a NFM. Happily I've tossed the Alcad Gloss Black undercoat into the garbage bucket so there will not be a repeat of the B-58 debacle

I’ve seen these kits on Amazon before and wondered just what the heck they were. Looking forward to watching your build!

Yeah -24 this AM but now the wind's coming up. Cut Bank MT up on the high line is getting -65 wind chill at this time. That's ferocious and very dangerous one can freeze exposed flesh in thirty seconds under such conditions

The coldest I ever saw it was -22 in Korea. Frickin' river we were camped out next to froze over in no time flat. I'll never forget how quickly it froze over. One day it was water and two days later the Op 4 was running across the ice to "attack" our position. Just crazy.....and frickin' COLD at that.

Warmer is warmer Because I planned this poorly (not used to AC kits yet) it's going on the back burner 'till canopy masks show up from Sprue Brothers. In the past I've tried to make my own with limited succsess but Eduard does it much better than I. Meantime some painting Tammy X-1 undercoat which has worked well in the past. I retarded the piss out of the paint, then placed the model on the windowsill of the coldest room in the house overnight which gave the paint plenty of time to level out. It's done that pretty well but I'm giving it a few days to cure and by then SB should have coughed up the masks. Welcome aboard H so far it's a nice little model thanks

How clever! You had to build it so you can shoot down all of those fw-190s out there. Looking good buddy.

Mike I don't think I will since the evil black bottle hit the garbage bucket. That was the only difference in my usual recipie, thanks for the comment. Time to take this back up again. Three coats of Alcad II Polished Aluminum have brought it to this I'll let it cure 'till tomorrow afternoon and then clear coat it with Alcad Clear Gloss. Once that stuff cures up (I give it at least 12 hours) I'll mask up and paint the anti-glare surfaces and I'm confident no lifting will occurr. The paint guide calls for OD on the panels but I'm gonna be difficult and use flat black just 'cause I think it looks better

I may have mentioned this b it I also threw away my evil black bottle. Stuff is rubbish. Your polished aluminum finish is truly gorgeous.

Thanks K S ain't it just? The original recipie worked fine, not one spot of lifted paint Wheel wells next then onto DECALS my favorite. I figure if I practice them enough I may get good at 'em then I won't hate them near as mucch. At least there aren't too many of them with this model

Whoah, nice jug! Don't think I've seen this scheme before. Dig the red bolts.
Premium Hobbies? I wonder what other kits they rebox. Alclad GB base should go in the trash? I better check my paint shelf!
