That is some amazing work. What a great scene that'll make! My curiosity is piqued for sure; what will the end look like? 😄
Here's Teddy R. with some inspiration! 😁

I'll be adding an old abandoned bus to the dio , maybe , if I can build the dang thing . Placed across the street from the diner next to a garage . I'd rather put a campfire out with my face than build a Roden kit , but it's the only 1/35th scale bus out there . Part numbers and identification are off , directions suck , just overall mayhem . postimg.cc/bGTpssBZ]

Key words being "old" and "abandoned" so at least fit and finish are not critical. Love the flat tires so far.

A bus will be a cool addition to this. And at least you don't have to worry about fitment of something your going to make a wreck of.

When I was a kid my dad collected all sorts of weird and wonderful junk. One of the things he brought home was an old 1940's bus. It was very dilapidated but he was going to turn it into a camper "someday". Turned out it made a really good storage shed. Much like him I plan to model it "someday" so will be watching yours closely.

Thanks BroSki , yeah it's gettin bigger . When you think about it you could make a dio as big as you want , if you build modules 2' by 2' and then join them for the big picture . Just gotta make sure the bases meet and the seams are camo'ed .
LOL , we'll see ............

Thanks for the link, I'd heard of the project but had no idea of the sheer size and complexity... Here's the Perry Twins participating in an earlier Peter Jackson project: Michael is on the right of the photo... As they sculpted themselves on the base of GW's Mumak; Michael is the one with the detached right forearm (obviously). "There's some corner of a foreign field That is for ever England": in Michael's case, Crécy... Cheers, M

The boat turned out great and me thinks that you'll make a gem out of the bus too...

I had a good chuckle when I read this and I've heard the horror stories for sure with Roden man. After seeing what you did with that boat (and all of the other things in this thread), I've got NO doubt that this bus will come together in good fashion. I've said this many times but, it's the modeler and not the model that make all of the difference in a good build. Rock on brutha. I've got a front row seat.

Small update , so far , so good . A lot of B.S. parts with location nubs , ............. but no holes on the parts they are to be located to . Miss numbered parts on mis labeled sprues . I played guess the part and guess the location to many times , parts on the instructions with no numbers . Pictures of parts on the instructions without showing where they go .............. Aaaaaand , I just did a fitting for the parts that make up the outer bus shell , ........... no location points , everything is butt joined . Herding squirrels might be easier ........... Anyway , I shouldn't complain , it's the only game in town . Two plusses , the engine is very cool and it's going to be an abandoned bus so there is plenty of room for hiding covering up poor fit etc. postimg.cc/xcKBK8pK] postimg.cc/tYSvd6tn] postimg.cc/LYgmRR9N] postimg.cc/svr3Ftt4] postimg.cc/JsT8kttp] postimg.cc/R3yzg87f]

Herding squirrels might be easier ........... Now THAT......was funny Glenn!! Dude, I just want you to know that for all of the trouble that you 're going through to make this bus happen......it's totally worth it. This is some good effort being put forth not only on this bus but the whole dang thing as well. This is really fun to follow along with bud.

I have to ask how you did the torn seat? What material are you covering them in? Not even finished yet but someone just lay the blue ribbon on the bench all of this is sitting on.

Thanks , you guys are way , way too kind !!! I scraped out some of the seat for depth and then took a small [ cut to fit ] piece of copy paper for the torn part and glued it on . Painted the seat stuffing off white with a grey oil wash . The three seats will be outside against the bus amongst some other abandoned scatter . The seats are painted Cinnamon Stick [ seat ] and Honeycomb [ head rest ] and are supposed to represent leather . Craft store cheap acrylics , DecoArt and FolkArt 2 fl oz , 59 ml for around two bucks each .

If you collect enough karma you can present them to a local Dairy Queen and they will sell you a Blizzard at the regular price.....
