When we started reviving this forum and inviting all of the past members who originally made this site what it was the first time, one of the first people on my list to invite back was S e r z h. He had a way of building models that was unique to some by way of building armor subjects up in a pre-painted way using lots of fabricated items and some aftermarket here and there. The guy was a wizard at building and never left any details out. He responded to my invitation by returning to MSC in May of last year and spending a couple of months with us until mid-June and was always very friendly towards anyone he conversed with here. His actual name was Sergey Yakovlev and he was from Moscow. I was saddened to hear from a good friend of his named Neo, who is also a member here, of his passing on the 29th of November at the age of 51. He was a great guy and I always looked forward to these projects of his when he took a new one on. His attention to detail was right up there with the very best in the modeling world and he will be missed on this forum by those that knew him here. Rest in peace Sergey.

Darn, my condolances for the passing of your friend Joe. I wish I could have seen his expertise here but I believe he was before my time. Good chance we'll meet at the Great Bench in the sky. R.I.P Serzh.

Not good news I wondered why he dropped off the site suddenly. Makes me wonder about Dierk also, who I've not seen on any of the fourms in quite some time

Sergey had asked about Dierk back in June when he made his return and had made mention that he hadn't seen him anywhere either.

I’m sorry to hear about Serzh’s passing. I only interacted with him very briefly when I first came aboard here and he was a good guy in that short time.

I didn't know the fellow, but to pass so young is sad to hear. Very much looking forward to seeing his work.
