Hey chromdome35 You could short track ,and just have the tracks going round the road wheels and return rollers if you have enough to do that, and dont bother going round the idler wheel . Will still go forward ,

I just don't trust my wife's cats enough to leave anything build wise out on my bench. I put everything into plastic containers when I am finished working. I got burned one too many times by missing/chewed up pieces.

My desire with this build was to do something quick and easy...the best laid plans and all I have decided to order another kit and use the tracks from it. I was able to find one on Ali Express for $27 with shipping. It will be on a slow boat from China, so I'm going to set this one on the shelf until the new tracks arrive. Moving on...

Modelkasten made a set of aftermarket tracks, but they are probably as expensive as what you paid for the kit. You may find them on Ebay.

Yes, I saw that those were out there, but I couldn't find any active auctions for them.

Are there any extra links on the sprues? I would think that there should be a few left over since its not a link and length set up with the exact number of track links needed.

Very cool build Brian , your weathering and chipping work turned out perfect !!!! The water tank trailer is a brilliant example of weathered/faded color and wear and tear . Try messing around with FolkArt acrylic crackle medium found in most craft stores , got mine at Michaels . When done properly you get great cracking effects on paint on , cars , tanks , leather seats , house paint etc. Love using it for paint on old buildings . Final acrylic paint coat over crackle medium should be applied with an air brush for best results . It's tricky using the final coat with a brush cuz you only can make one pass with the brush , otherwise the paint bunches and the crackle effect doesn't work so good . postimg.cc/rR9Dvhnk] postimg.cc/NKRzZSmV] postimages.org/] postimg.cc/ZW49xhq5] postimg.cc/MMyQ00Qh]

There was also one offering on German Ebay, but as we know shipping overseas is traumatizing cost wise. I hope you can get them from Scalemates.

Just getting caught up here. Man that is really looking fine. It really sucks about the track destruction and I hope you can get replacements. I couldn't help but notice the box art of a cat looking very interested in the tracks. Irony or an omen of things to come?
