Thanks, Andrew!  The masks are from Maketar, who I don't think are still in business. After I fixed the left side I noticed the right side cross was too high by 2-3mm so I had to redo that as well haha. That didn't require quite as much work thankfully.

Thanks! The Swedish dude is a Pilot Replicas Saab J29 Tunnan. Yet another thing in the works.

I see Maketar's site is still up, and they advertise like they are open, but all the 'add to cart' buttons are greyed out. A shame, I really liked their masks. Thankfully I still have a stash of 1:48 German and RAF markings.

Really like their masks as well and thankfully, I also have a bunch of them still.

Such a cool scheme that you're going with on this birdie Jay. As long as I've known you, you seem to always go for the more challenging Luftwaffe schemes and pull off some of the best looking work I've seen. Details are aplenty as well. Keep 'er comin' pal.

Thanks, everybody! Been working away on this thing. Painted the mottling which was very heavy on this K-4. Fortunately this plane is very well documented and I tried to duplicate that. I'm ok with what I ended up with. A raw umber oil wash to start the weathering and a little more streaking with the raw umber. Exhaust stains sprayed with Mr. Hobby Soot. Recycled the G-Factor gear legs and BarracudaCast wheels and tires from one I trashed. I save the prop and spinners too but didn't have one with a spiral I liked for this plane so it's getting a new BarracudaCast one. I painted it all white and then used a Maketar mask to get the spiral. The exhaust stubs are AM but not sure whose they are as they were just loose in the box. Very nice though. The heat shields are kit parts sanded down for a more scale thickness.

Thanks, fellows! I have managed to get this thing finished up. I always enjoy these Hasegawa 109s and this one was no exception. Probably another in my future.
