Hi all. Thought i'd share a sneak peak at my personal custom Lorne Green as Commander Adama 1/6 scale figure I'm creating. This is sort of a sneak peak for you all. I'll share more details and the finished figure soon. One my personal pet projects.

Excellent, please keep us posted. These huge scale heads are very popular right now and seeing how some are painted lately will make your jaw drop.
Ruck On!

Had some time today to start working on my Lorne Greene Commander Adama figure. First a light coat of One Shot black primer. [/url

I wanted to make the most realistic TOS Commander Adama figure I possibly could. I obtained some of the old Majestic Studios left over 1/6 scale costumes they originally produced for their line back in 06, but my head is an original design. Hope you all find this project interesting.

That’s awesome that you were able to source those costumes. And I think your Lorne Greene head is looking awesome. Looks just like him.

Cool! I can see the whole crew in the future😁. It takes me back to the good old days when we had model viper fights and unfortunately crashes. To think what the value of those things are worth now, it almost makes me want to cry. Keep them coming Jack!

Totally digging this! I would love to see some progress on that head. Here he is with some light base skin tone and some hair work. Lots to do yet.

I've got a tip that I think will help you along when you're ready. If you are using Enamels or acrylics use a Polyurethane or Acrylic semi gloss or satin clear coat before you progress to oils for the tonal variations. It should allow you to clean up mistakes easier and allow for a lot of wiggle room in manipulating the next layers. Think of a clear coat as a "save" option before you proceed. The eyes, especially of you are inexperienced will give you trouble. They do for even us more moderate figure painters.
I'd hate to see that lovely base work you've done get ruined by an ameture mistake if I can at all help prevent it. You're doing wonderful so far. Don't doubt yourself and be confident you will do this justice, because from what I can see so far, you've got this. Well done, indeed.

Once I'm happy with the lips and eyebrows I'll be spaying some AMMO Lucky Satin Clear over the skin tones before moving on to the eyes.

More work on Adama. Still need to touch up the eyebrows and lashes before moving onto the eye balls. I'm not done with the skin shading yet, but I'll keep it subtle due to the size of this figure, and my lack of paint skills. I also plan to light him in a display, so don't want to overdo light effects here.
