Excellent work! The models, ground work, overall scene - just awesome. How long does it take you to complete something like that?

Excellent work! The models, ground work, overall scene - just awesome. How long does it take you to complete something like that? This took about a month. The only reason it took so long, was items I had ordered too over two weeks to get to me. There were items that didn't work, so It was basically a waiting game.

Excellent work! The models, ground work, overall scene - just awesome. How long does it take you to complete something like that? This took about 3 months from start to finish. I started off by weathering the vehicles. The only reason it took so long, was items I had ordered too over two weeks to get to me. There were items that didn't work, so It was basically a waiting game. A MONTH? ?

A MONTH? ? Remember, I'm a fast builder. I like to keep things rolling as I have other builds and client list, I have to get off my modelling table. I have no less than 20 models built and waiting for diorama/display bases. Take me more than a month to place the static grass on that forget about the rest of it! Add the fact that yours is 1/50th scale but looks more like 1/16th and it is even more impressive you can do it so quick.

Add the fact that yours is 1/50th scale but looks more like 1/16th and it is even more impressive you can do it so quick. What a coincidence you mentioned static grass. That was the major issue I was having. I purchased the wws from England. Took about two weeks, even though I practically live just next door. But it was still outside the EU. When I received it, it did not live up to the hype. So I was pissed and sent a complaint to the company. They sent me another one as compensation and that took another two weeks. When I finally received it, it performed exactly the same as the first. Now I was really pissed. To make a long story short, they were nice enough to refund me the total cost and keep both items. I found another applicator, which I ended up buying. A very expensive, but a monster of am applicator. Block 50. Cost over 200euros, German technology of course... What a beast. It handles grass up to 16mm.

Lovely! Would find a tutorial on how you do the grass awesome as well 😉 Grass tutorials are many on YouTube. Type in wws Scenics in YouTube and you will see how they do it for their products. There is also Woodland Scenics. I too watched many tutorials before embarking on the grass venture. I am still getting the hang of it.

This is an outstanding build, congratulations! As a truck driver from Australia, I'd like to make a couple of observations that are in no way criticisms, just detail items that would add to the realism. The ramps on the trailer carrying the Volvo prime mover need chains and dogs to hold them in the vertical position, the front and rear gates on the trailers need to be roped into position if they are removable and not permanently fixed in those positions. All the drum reels should be chained down, the nylon straps are deemed unsuitable for the restraining of these items whether they are in a suitable cradle or not. Ask me how I know! Last point, being a triple road train, it wouldn't be operating in the state of Tasmania, but Tassie is the only state where you would find a Tassie devil. I know it sounds picky, not my intention, just as an Aussie, it makes me twitch lol.
