Did some test painting on the "stock" version landing pad, and the aftermarket version I'll end up using. Same color used on each version. Hard to tell from this pic, but using gloss black as the base coat adds some depth to the top aluminum coating. The center strut will be "chromed" once all the feet are painted.

Nice. I like the color and the chrome legs will be a nice touch.

Work on the Eagle is chugging along. I've selected the paint color of the cabin interior and painted the 2 bulkhead doors sections and flooring. I also picked up an aftermarket cockpit with some nice detailing. I've got it primed and will do some sanding & more prep work before painting the same color used in the rear cabin. also started putty work on the roof trussing supports that got melted during the roof top surgery.

Test fitted the new custom Eagle Command Module. Too bad most of the rear wall won't really be seen once it's together with the pilots. I still have to paint the flight controls before putting the cockpit together. Also work continues in the rear cabin.

What a transformation you are making with this! It's taken a little longer than I'd like - but been busy with work, life and some auto repairs . Hope to lay down the electronics and have the cockpit painted in the next couple weeks.

It happens to us all at some point.

I think the project is beginning to leave the "Toy" phase and starting to blend into "model" phase. Stock: Some of my Eagle Mods: What do you all think?

It's a night and day difference in detail that looks even better when painted!
