Update.. wings and booms. I'll only post up pics of one side as both are identical, if mirror images The boom is made up of two parts, these go together really well. As with the fuselage, the inner curve of the wheel bay is replicated by very clever moulding: The wing joins to this just as the real thing was built with reinforced bolt covers. There are few very small gaps to fill on one or two joints but nothing to worry about As you can see from the pic above, I've opened the flaps, the inner detail is moulded onto the moving part and replicated by an etched brass panel on the upper, fixed, surface. The wing tip is moulded in clear plastic, a bit strange as there only appears to be a flight position light there? Anywho, it doesn't cause any real problems but there is a joint to fill that needn't be there. Okay then, I've now a fuse, two booms, tail and two wings This lot is going together tonight .. who -bloody-rah I hear you say I think we'll pick up speed from here, as always ACW BTW, sorry for the slightly dull pictures. I lent my camera to the wife and had to use my phone.

Steve, this is coming on great. Can't wait to see the wings and fuselage together. I really like the GWH kits, have their Blackwidow next in line !.
Chris.

I was thinking of getting their Devastator, but both the price and the switch to armour made me change my mind...

Thanks Dicky.. the joints are not as bad as the picture may make out, some of it is dry fitted in them Cheers Robbo, they weren't fixed ... but they are now the P61 is real nice Chris, I'm really enjoying the build on this one, if only like would allow me more than a couple of hours a week to do it! Luigi, the Dev' is a nice kit from all accounts I find the price of some of the Armour way over the top for my budget . and when you add metal tracks and brass..£60 for a wingy ain't bad Sam, thanks Buddy :)A wrecked wingy(less) thing is in planning right now OK then.. quick update on it's way ... hooray!! I hear you all say ;D

Before I cemented the wings to the booms and then this to the tub, I thought I'd have a go at masking the transparencies. This was a bucket of fun ;D As you may just be able to make out from the pic, the numbers do not follow in sequence, some are duplicated and one or two are missing altogether It's a bit like a cross between 'Where's Wally' and an advent calendar for February the 30th ;D In fairness, they are cut well, fitted really well and you can see how the it's meant to go together so the number thing is nothing more than amusing... you can see that mask 24 is applied upside-down from how it's presented on the sheet.. so someone in Shanghai numbered it 42 ... close but no cigar ;D So here she is, the skis are dry fitted to check the sit of the aircraft. Clear parts fixed with Plasticweld just touched to the join. I'm masking her up tonight ready for a grey primer coat to check the joints before the rest of the clear parts are added Thanks for tagging along, issues at home have meant this is taking far longer than I wanted but I think we're on our way now as always ACW

Those precut masks are great and make this plane definitely easier to paint. I tried the old airfix 1/72 in my youth and it was a real nightmare...

Hiya, Gary, thanks buddy, yep she sure is a nice one! I think you're spot on buddy, these would be a real pain to mask from tape Luigi , I built the old Airfix one too , many moons ago and yep the clear parts were the worst thing in every way . Not sure what the newer Revell offering is like though? Thanks for stopping by fellas

Hiya, Dicky, yep The Lifecolour arrived in good time, ever used it before but if it goes on as nice as it looks, I'll be buying a lot more Thanks is due to the Airbrush Company who supplied them as my MOM prize! Cheers guys... Cheers Robbo, the glazing looks a pain but , numbering apart, it's been a doddle Boots, thanks bubbly , no problem you've not missed much as its not been a quick build down to some troubles at home

Very nice work so far Steve. Man that is a lot of glass. Good that you have the masks, even if they messed up the numbering.

WOW! I agree with Gary... I'd rather not to cut and use the Tamiya masking tape for this! Can't wait to see it painted soon.

Hi All, thanks for the support guys Real quick update, No... I haven't forgot this one , just not had the space to paint her Build phase is complete and onto paint Grey undercoat followed by basic pre-shading. Found a few more gaps that needed filling, and tomorrow is camo time The skis are dry fitted BTW, that's why they look a bit odd
