Nice to see this one moving again Sam! Looks sharp with the canopy in place and the weathering added.

Wow, thanks fellas! I am truly humbled by your kind words..... Andy - Thanks mate, glad you still like the look of her! Marcel - Cheers mate! That's a pretty good idea, I will definitely keep that in mind. Definitely need to get some differential colouring going on with that big black patch!! Dicky - Wow. Thanks mate, I'm a bit speechless with that comment actually. Seeing as I can't speak no more, it's a good thing I'm typing! High praise indeed! I will try not to disappoint with the final product! Steve - Not a problem at all my friend, glad you could catch up with things! There's so much going on with this site, I miss stuff all the time!! Glad you like the paintwork, there's a few "firsts" in there for me so I'm glad it's working out!! Bill - Thanks a lot mate, yeah I'm pretty happy with how she's lookin' so far! By the way, she was always moving along (albeit slowly), it was just the updates that weren't, all due to me being too lazy busy! Thanks again for the high praise lads, hopefully it wont be another month until the next update!!! Cheers, Sam

Thom -Thanks mate, glad you like the paintwork my friend! Tried a few new things here so I am chuffed they worked out! Guy - Well thanks for the kind words buddy, that means a lot coming from a master weatherer like yourself! I did notice the dust after I posted the photo (damn camera picks up everything!). Rest assured she will get a cleanup as I still have some pastel weathering to do in the final stages. Hopefully I will get all the dust off before the next photo session!! Well folks, we are nearly there! I managed to get the last of the radio wires installed last night, so all that is remaining is adding the last few bits and bobs (windscreen, tail rotor, etc), attaching it to the base and then doing some pastel weathering to "old" it up a bit more. Hoping to have it done over the weekend, so all going well there should be some more photos in the next few days! Cheers, Sam

Stunning job, Sam. I love the outcome The antenna wire can be done easily with EZ line or some other elastic wire...

Howdy folks! I must apologise for my extreme tardiness in getting back to y'all with completed pix of the Wessex. Still better late than never, I suppose! Truth be told, it's somewhat of a pain to photograph, as I don't have anywhere permanent that I can do it, my computer desk being the only spot. This means that I cant check my pix until I have packed up and if they are a bit naff, I usually can't be arsed doing it all over again on the same night. That's pretty much what happened with this effort. My first lot of pix I was unhappy with and it took me a while to get around to having another crack. To be honest, I'm still not really that happy with the quality of the pix, I'm still trying to get my head around what settings to use on the camera and stuff. :-SEnnyweigh, 'nuff with the 'scuses. Here are some pix of the finished Wessex in all her (relatively small) glory. She looks better in the flesh, but hopefully y'all will get the idea. Enjoy the show....... A wee paint pot fer scale... So there ya go folks! Hope she was worth the wait. Lemme know whatcha think.... If I feel inclined I may enter the ol' girl in MoM..... Cheers, Sam

She's a BEAUTY! Took you 14 months to finish it... worth the long wait! It means there's still a hope for me to finish my DUKW. LOL One of my rotary favorites so far... easy!

You gotta enter her, it's a wonder BTW, if I may suggest, you should work on the white balance. The pics tend to a pinkish hue that come from an incorrect balance, IMHO.

Wowsers lads, I am truly humbled by yer replies!! Jeff - Thankyou very much mate! Andy - Why thankyou buddy, yeah I ain't the fastest builder in the shed, that's fer sure! But if I can finish stuff there is hope fer us all!! Luigi - Thanks mate, yeah I think I will put her in, especially after all these comments! I agree with you about the white balance, one of the reasons I was not that happy with the photos. My photography skills are definitely a work in progress! Maybe I will see if I can get some better photos done for the MoM entry... Dicky - Wow, thanks for the kind words my friend, it is truly humbling to get comments like that from the likes of your good self and other amazing modellers on this site. It is inspiring, and you guys here are the main driving force for me to do a better job each time around. Thanks cobber!! Bruce - Ta mate, glad ya like it! CB - Thanks buddy, pretty sure after this lot of comments she will end up in the MoM. Never understood why you buncha crazy folk would wanna jump out of a ferpekly good flyin' machine... (By the way, don't say the first part of my reply to you out loud. It just sounds wrong. ) Bill - Thanks fella, she will be going in methinks! Joe - Thankyou for your very kind words, good sir! Gaz - Thanks a bunch, matey! Yeah, I'm pretty chuffed with how she turned out! Boots - Jeepers, best one ever? You musn'ta seen many choppers then!! Thanks so much fer the kind words mate, must be doing ok if I got a "ferkin" in the comments!! Thanks again for the lovely words fellas, you have inspired me to break out another chopper. What will it be? You'll have to wait and see.... Cheers, Sam
