OK, I find several 1/48th TA 152's in my out of control stash this morning. This kinda falls right in place with some data I gleaned last night, so bear with me here as I have some true odd ball thoughts.
Last night I was reading and taking in data from two or three books regarding the FW190 series, and I finally quit I was left dumb founded (I know that ain't hard).:
* The plane that caught my real interest was WRK.# 110007. CI+XM indentification codes. This would be TA152 V7. I've only found one picture of the plane, and it looks to have been painted white with some minor camo done to it. But I find a color painting of it in the "Planes & Pilots" book and it shows up in the normal TA152 camo pattern.. I'm more interested in the winter camo version. Does anybody have in their archives of photos a side shot of the aircraft?
Also this particular airframe used the FW190 wings, but with the rest being a normal TA152 other than the engine. This leads me into a couple more questions.
1. the engine was a DB603L. Would the engine exhaust be different? Plus at a different location. The color painting shows them being identical, but I have to question this. Also is there a good aftermarket engine intake scoop for this airframe?
2. would the bottom side of the wings be indentical to the D9 or would they have been modded a little bit to fit the needs?
WRK. #110007 was the prototype for the TA152C, and it has seriously caught my eyes gary

well I did find a TA152C kit in 1/48th from Dragon. I got the one that came with the torpedo. Looks like they got the bottom side of the wings right on this one. Now I gotta find my TA152 book that has the interior photos in it. But looking at the area right behind the prop, it just dosn't look quite right. gary

I love the Ta152...love the appearance of that bird. I saw the H version of Zoukei Moura in a mag a while ago and wanted it (not cheap though)...sadly it isn't on sale anymore...:/
can't help you on the question stuff though ^^
Cheers

it appears that my book that is needed the most must be on loan to somebody. I did find a couple more photos of that airframe yesterday evening, and they were in the basic camo pattern. But the one that caught my eye was the winter camo pattern.
ZM has reissued some of their older kits lately, so they may do this one as well. I'm wanting a Shinden really really bad right now!! gary

Wasn't the C the short winged version designed to fly at lower heights? If so it should be a "luft 46" project, as far as I know, it didn't enter frontline service, if I recall correctly. The TA 152 is definitely one of the best looking planes of WW2

Gary, I read somewhere on the net that ZM are going to release an 1:48 version...didn't find that on their site though... Cheers

Why worry, each of us is wearing an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back.

Hey sturmbird,
The TA shared the same basic cockpit as the D series 190's. A few changes were made on the right hand console. but that was just a slight change in switch placement. I'll see if I can find some pics, also Eduard makes a PE set for the C. I have an HO sitting in the stash so I can't wait to see this come together!

Pete there's quite a controversey about the Dragon cowl, and the area directly behind the prop. The photos show that they at least got the radiator right, but the rest kinda sucks! As a last resort, I may just take a road trip over to Dayton to look at their D9 and visit their book store (amongst the best). I wait and see how much snow hits the ground this weekend before doing anything serious! gary
