So sorry fella, completely forgot, my man came back to me and suggested the following but I guess you probably tried 'em all already.
1. Temporarily disable your firewall till after you have covered the following.
2. Make sure you have properly exited the forum.
3. Delete and reinstall the latest version of the browser(s) you use, he suggested trying IE but said Firefox tends to be more err 'agreeable' and less crash prone.
4. Delete and reinstall Java, not from any prompt within any forum pages but independant of that, i.e. try and find a download through Google for example.
5. Ensure that you also have an up to date version of DirectX
6. Although the system may not prompt, restart the device as often it needs a reboot to complete the installation.
