Mark, please bear in mind, the Lincs Lanc may still be 2 or 3 years from gracing our skies, but it would be a real treat to see both(Or all 3!!) Lancs, over our airspace in the next few years,eh?

Not sure I could justify the potential cost of one of these,IF they get round to bringing it out!!! Hey CB, prepare your wallet my friend, as from what I've heard it's not a matter of IF, but rather WHEN! I have a friend here in Perth who runs his own hobby import business, dealing largely with model kit manufacturers. He regularly visits hobby shows overseas such as the Nuremberg Toy Fair. He tells me that HK are going hard like there's no tomorrow! They will be releasing a number of kits later this year and next year. The remainder of the year will be used to release a Gloster Meteor Mk 4 in October, followed by the B-25H (Sorry Dave, B-25, not B-52!! ) Gunship before Chrimbo! Then it really ramps up in 2014! They will be releasing, all in 1/32 (in no particular order): Lancaster Dornier 335 Pfiel B-17E B-17F Mosquito (various marks)
And that's just the ones they've told us about!!
All I can say is great googly-moogly!! Glad I don't build 1/32, as my wallet would be bound for a smashin'!!
As for storage of the beasts, I know the B-17 comes with a hefty wall mounting bracket to allow you to mount the gargantuan behemoth to yer wall. I imagine the other big 'uns would be the same. Good to see HK recognize the fact that most of us don't own a hangar to store the ferkin' things!!!
Whether they will meet their proposed dates is open to debate, but with the speed at which model companies in general are now producing kits (thankyou very much, CAD/CAM!!) I would say a hearty "MOST PROBABLY!!"
Cheers,
Sam

As a newbie to the forum and a fan of large scale models this thread caught my eye so I had a look at the HK and Hannants sites and apparently the B-17G is already available. I think Hannants may have got the dimensions wrong though, as according to my calculations it should be approximately 750mm in length with a wingspan of 988mm (that 29.5 and 39 inches respectively). I suggest displaying it on your dining table and eating meals off of a tray!
The Lancaster is supposed to be released in June or July this year - 2014 - and measures 660mm in length with a wingspan of 972mm (26 and 38 inches). No idea how much the Lanc will be, but the B-17 weighs in at £242 which is about $403 at the current exchange rate. Although having said that things do seem to cost less in the US than they do here in the UK so it probably won't be as expensive as I've estimated.

The Fort can be had all day long here in the US for around $270. I imagine the Lanc will be something around there. I don't feel like I have the room for any of these but I'll get a Fort if they pop an early G or F since they had much more interesting nose art on the whole. I'll also get a Mossie if it ever comes to fruition.

I saw the presser on this one too. I normally wouldn't even think about such a beast but I just might have to break down and get this one. The Lanc was the nicest looking 4 engine bomber of World War II. I would probably mount it on the wall with one of those hanger arms for mounting models. Display it in say a gentle bank wheels up of course.
Dave.
