After posting pics of my completed builds, i guess i should show what i am building now. This is Academy's 1/72nd Ju 87G-1. I am useing an Aires resin set which has the cockpit, guns and engine. This will be built with the engine covers off in a maintance diorama. The guns include the body of the weapons with opeing panels. I am also adding undercarrage and spinner from Quickboost. The completed pit before being fitted. I really like Ires resin sets, but they are always a pain to fit. Even with the fuselage thinned as far as i dare and the resin thinned, it was still a squeze. I also cut out the pilots target viewing window and fitted some clear styrene. Here, most of the assmele is done, with the engine fire wall fitted. Last weekend i got the underside painted RLM 65, i am useing Xtracolor enamels, my paint of choice. Then last Wedensday i got the RLM 71 on, i like to leave at least two days before masking. I spent a couple of hours yesterday afternoon masking as well as starting on the base. And today i got the engine painted and almost done. I should have the RLM 70 on tomorrow. The stuka is my favorite aircraft, and though i built one many years ago, i don't now have a completed one on the shelfe. So its about time i got one built. All comments welcome.

As promised, with all the paint now done and the masking removed. All of the engine panels have also been painted, they will be displayed removed so i still need to paint the insides. The engine is well under way, still a couple of bits to add and paint. Now time for my favorite bit, adding decals. All comments welcome.

I use xtracolor enamels. They have a wide range of specfic paints, includeing FSM, RAL and RLM colours. I used their RLM 65 underneath and 70/71 on top.

Andy, your in. I like Stuka's, A LOT. Got more of those in the stash than any other type. So expect to see a few more to come.
And don't worry, i think i have enough German wingy things for the both of us.

The tonal difference between 70 and 71 is often less marked and this makes the plane less attractive, at least to my eyes

Thanks guys, i am really enjoying this build.
Luigi, i know what you mean and do prefer having a bigger difference betwen the two. But the RLM colour cards i have show the 71 as being darker. But i have seen other builds similar to mine and they look great. I think the contrast will be reduced a touch once i get the flat on and some weatheing, but not to much. Its been a long time since i last did this scheme, so i am re learning as i go along.

I know, in most b/w pictures it is difficult to tell 70 from 71. I have a 262 in 70/71 splinter (never finished and probably I never will) and the two colours are quite hard to tell. I agree with your choice, the result looks much more convincing and nice to see

Just been going through some referance pics and realised i have made a big cock up. The white band around the tail. Well that should be yellow, as this is an eastern Front bird. So i have just maksed the white band and will paint it tomorrow.
No idea what made me do it white. Must have been those voices in my head again.

Thanks Amon. The decals are almost done and the engine is nearly finished. Going to be working a bit more on the base and ground equipment over the next few days.

Thanks guys. Leon, looks like we have a small growing group of Stuka fans on here.
Joe, its like everything else, practice practice and more practice. I have been building Dio;s almost since i started modelling. I really need to improve with more detailed bases, especially for my armour builds.
I didn't want this one to be as thick with grass, i wanted a bit more of the soil showing through. But i am not going to mess with it now. My next two will be similar bases so hopefully i can get it right.

Finally time for another update. Finally got the aircraft finished a few days ago. After i took these, there was a couple of things i wasn't to happy about. I realised that the prop blades were totally wrong, so these have now been corrected. I also wasn't happy with the antenna. I used fishing line which i have used on my last few kits with no problem. But on this it didn't look right. I have been meaning to get some EZ line for ages and i got some in the post yesterday and it now looks a lot better. But this is how it was before i made those corections. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.
