Hello Bill, Thank you. I must say that with the color on the 'Cat, it certainly does have a "schnoz" on it. Hello Andy, Oooooh! You've a pic of a Tigercat? I'd love to see it. Thank you my friend. Hello Mike, Thank you very much. The marking were pretty simply on this one. It just occurred to me, that there are no prop stencils with the kit decal sheet. All this time and I'm just not realizing it. Hello Steve, Thank you for the compliment. As mentioned before, there's not a lot in the way of stencils on this beastie. Not like the F-15C or F-4C lurking in the stash. With those kits, the part and stencils look to be a one to one ratio. Dave

I went thru all pictures and I couldn't find. Checked the official website and I was mistaken... I must have seen F-94 Starfire instead. So many planes I saw yesterday at the museum. You will love this place... maybe you should visit it one day and I'd even meet you there and enjoy some beer together.

No worries my friend. Now THAT sounds like a fantastic idea! Here's the results from last nights chipping session. Some of the chipping did not go off as planned. Such as the underside of the fuselage. It may have been a combination of factors, such as, the paint being a bit thicker on the underside (I had a difficult time getting coverage here ) and, the paint curing for too long. I realized this morning that the main gear doors never got chipped. After all that tricky masking to seal off the intakes to keep them white…….As it turns out the intakes only seem to be white on restored 'Cats. The pics of the 'Cat, while inservice, show the intakes as dark. Most likely, the same color as the fuselage. And they looked so darned slick. The 20mm barrels have not yet been installed. The plan is to paint them and, then install them. I did not relish the idea of installing them and, then trying to paint them between the fuselage and nacelles. There's just not a lot of room to work there. Dave

Ah! Hello DickyF. You posted whilst I was updating. Funny you mention that. I was thinking the same thing (about this coming to a finish that is) last night. It's getting time to start selecting something from the stash. Not sure if I'll do another wingy thingy or a ground crawly thing. I do have some MK tracks arriving in the post on Monday. They're for a Tamiya T-72 that is lurking in the stash. In my years of modeling, I have never built any armor that could be remotely considered "modern". Perhaps it's high time I did. Yes, there's PE and an RB barrel. I love Tamiya kits…..I'm just not a fan of glueing barrel halves together. The build would not be a scratch building-fest. Not like this one. Perhaps the one after…... Dave

Great finish Dave. I'm sure finishing this up after all this time is a bit of relief too. Chipping and decals really brought life into it as well showed how weary the airframe really is. Great effect. Congrats on a bulls well done!

Hello Andy, There is a lot of great beers here in the Pacific Northwest. Doesn't help trying to keep the "Dunlopitis" at bay. Hello Joe, Thank you very much and, thank you for your patience. Hello Rick, Thank you kindly for the compliment. The finish was bitter sweet for me. I really did have a blast building this 'Cat. I have had builds that have taken a fraction of the time and, did not have nearly the same enjoyment as this one. I have since come to realize that if I see something on a build of mine and, I don't like it, then I should change it to my satisfaction. Which is what I did with this build. If it means my builds take longer then that is what will happen. This is supposed to be gratifying for the builder and, if anything can be passed on along the way even better! Hello Bill, Thank you as always for the support and inspiration, I have followed your works since starting at the "other" forum and, they have been a great source for my. So, thank you. As for what's next…..it's this….. and it has been started. Hopefully it won't take nearly as long as the 'Cat…..there are too many kits in my stash that I want to build. Hello Luigi, Thank you for your "understatements". They are very much appreciated. Hello Dupes, Your compliment is very much appreciated. Thank you. Hello DennisM, Thank you for the compliment and for taking the time to have a gander. Hello Tojo72, Thank you for your compliments. I am pleased to read that you enjoyed the build. Dave
