Thx Leon, thx for the encouragement, greatly appreciated me Amigo! Dierk, you the man, Brother! You've always been a booster and now ya nailed it right where I need it, where the brush meets the plastic. I copied and pasted your post on Word and it's on the easel right in front of me. I need this info before I go any further, which makes your expertise timely and the knowledge priceless. Air box is correct, I think I forgot that bugger. The rest of the list is in the works, perfect explanation, except; I'm in need of nomenclature etiquette Bro. I'll pound thru the book on that nomenclature, but I'm amiss on some of the terminology, boot-handle? I'm gonna assume it's the foot step in and out of the sidecar? I actually toned that down because I felt I got carried away on it, but if you could expand on that I'd be greatly appreciative of any more input. If I have more questions may I send em your way? Someone who owns one will know every nook and cranny, kinda like my 1983 KZ750L3, limited edition, of course, . Thx greatly Dierk. Back to the bunker I go. Cheers, Ski.

Glad to be able to help you out Steve! Any questions, fire away. Boot-handle is the lever at the back to open the 'trunk', or Kofferraum to give it its German name - the thing the spare wheel is mounted on. Something I forgot yesterday: you may want to add chipping to the spoke-nipples (fnar) - the twiddly bits on the spokes where they meet the rim. Because of the lateral forces on the rear wheel in particular - a sidecar-specific problem - the spokes work themselves loose and need tightening frequently. Don't tone down the foot-step too much - these guys wore hob-nail boots. Just noticed: there's something weird going on with the wooden floor in the sidecar - there is a line of bolts/rivets running down the middle, fastening the wooden slats to thin air - they should be over the metal strips either side. Probably a bit late to do anything about. Nice Quacker BTW - one of my faves, next to the GPZ750 turbo that I was lucky enough to have a short spin on some years back. Back at home I also have a '77 BMW R80/7 with high compression pistons - looks like an old man's bike but has surprised many a kid on more modern machinery who fly by in a straight line only to find me overtaking them in the next corner

I still need to do a complete over haul on my girl, but riding up here in the boonies is like playin dodge ball with over grown rodents, the deer are everywhere. Use to ride the Angeles Crest Highway back in the day, killer corners and some serious whip action, if you knew the layout of the road and avoided the small patches of loose sand and debris. I'll work over the list and thx for the tips. The bolts on the wood planks would be bolted thru the floor, saw them on another build. Oh well, so much for intense research, doeeee......... They'll get covered with a bit of gear, as soon as I figure out what to load in there. Thx again Dierk. K1W1, thx brother, she's a slow burn, but coming along. Cheers, Ski.

Thx Andy. It's raining my entire weekend, so I can actually retool (as in pegging up ref pics, paints and research material) and gear up for the Harley full steam, yehaaaaaaaaaa!
Cheers, Ski.

Sorry for the delay Yall, I've been trying to be consistant in the bunker witohout much luck, but I did get some pics taken. I did take these pics last night, but everything and it's brother was eating into my bunker time, even today. Here's a few pics of the saddlebags and scabbard as well as some work I did on the seat in an attempt to make the stitching. That was a pain, but it'll have to do. You may also be able to see the reworked plumbing lines in there too. Detail Masters has some really good stuff. Touch up base tone must be done before the weathering, chipping and rusting out some bolt areas, etc., but I'm almost where I was when the first Harley met it dastardly fate on the bunker floor in pieces. Much care and attention is being take this time around, HA! Thx for watching and fire away if there's something I may have missed. Cheers, Ski.

WOW!!! Glad you are still working on it... must say its the best I have seen. Four years into this build you are really making this the best ever if possible! 4 years, ya had to remind me Deaf, dang me, HA! lol. Gee wiz time flies, don't it?? Thx for the kind words Bro. Leon, Captfue, Mr. T, John,K1W1,JPC, thx for watchin guys. It has been a pain trying to stay consistent, but I truly am a slow painter. It's the process that I enjoy the most rather than the finale, like yall. Right now Gents I'm finding little items in the Squadron book on Harleys that are fine details, so I'm actually scratch building the brake pedal solenoid and wiring back to the box. It may seem anal retentive, but at this scale I can afford to go a bit crazy, as long as I keep this bugger on the bench. Thx again yall for watching and comments, more to follow soon. Cheers, Ski.
