im really stuck with the paint scheme i thought of keeping the turret in camo as the Porsche turret was more of an earlier turret and that it had been used on a last available repaired hull. Dan B

Looks good Dan! Personally I like the idea of different colour on the hull and turret, it mixes it up a bit. The weathering could then bring it all back together. There were some unusual patterns late in the war, often based on the ambush scheme, the octopus is a good one.

Hiya Dan. I like this 'What if' concept mate. Those extra armour plates on the roof, engine deck and exhausts look great. Different paintschemes between turret and hull would make this subject even more interesting indeed Cheers

Thanks for the positive comments TRM. the two rear plates are going to be raw steel with a hint of rust and the turret plate i was planning on painting in a camo scheme as if it had been cut from the side of a damaged halftrack as a sign of desperate times in the third reich!!!! i was planning on making track hangers out of plasticard has anyone made them from anything else? cheers

Hi Dan. I used some left over PE fret to make some home-made track hangers for my Panther F. You could give that a try ^^

Some experiments for the aa armour and for the primer colour these plates are made from plasticard ive tried using enamel paints and acrylic paints with the hairspray technique they offered the same kind of results so im pleased with that also one of the plates still needs some rust effects added, i cant decide on the oxide colour so il keep experimenting. Good choice Dan!!! Left is it! Nice color to boot. Trial and error is standard practice. Keep making things until you find something YOU like! I think the recipe changes every time I mix the base/oxide...more of a feel than a mix by drop guy! All looking great BTW...keep it rolling!!!

Many thanks boys for the comments and suggestions just a quick update after a day of shocking weather i had loads of time to get a few bits done finally painting has started the roadwheels are in colour they need to be clear coated before a bit of weathering can start also the turret has recieved a coat of primer. Heres a few pics of some scratch built anti panzerfaust sheilds these were my first attempts very fiddly i used some left over pe sprues and superglued some cheap medical gauze to the frame i could not get the strands of gauze to stay straight so i think might make so mk2 versions with some fine metal mesh. Or stop being a cheap skate and buy some some voyager pe ones !!!!!! lol hahahaha Dan B they look a lot better when primed black you dont notice the wavey mesh so much.

The KT has finally got itself some paint i have started the roadwheels and turret all parts were primed in black. Turret: once primed i started with some colour modulation using Tamiya buff to give it some highlights for when the oxide primer is sprayed then i mixed 70/30 mix of Vallejo cavalry red and lemon yellow then thinned with water this was sprayed lightly until i got the cm effect i wanted, I then used Vallejo german camo brown to darken areas i then thinned this paint mix to use it as a filter this was sprayed all over the turret then once dry i mixed 50/50 tamiya hull red and buff and thinned with rubbing alcohol and water this was used as a highlight. Roadwheels: once the primer was dry these were sprayed with tamiya dark yellow then they recieved some cm using tamiya buff and german camo brown. Dan B

Just a quick update i have finally gt some paint onto the hull heres the pics, Hull in primer A little CM (well my try anyway!!!!!) Turret with scratches the AA plate has been rusted and has a coat of gloss ready for oils. Hull has had a filter wash and glossed ready for weathering i used dark yellow and buff for CM and Vallejo flesh for a filter. Hopefully get on with the weathering soonish as this build is taking long then i wanted!!!!! Dan B

I managed to do a bit more to the KT last night i have decided that the hull should have some camo as it looks very bare i was against tri camo as i wanted it to look like a rushed paint job so i decided on just green. I first de canned some HS into my airbrush and gave the hull two light coats once dry i sprayed some random lines with Tamiya Nato green. I left the green to dry for 30 mins then used some warm tap water to chip the green i did this whole process twice as the 1st attempt didnt look right and i think it has given it some depth. And finally the turret recieved some enamel washes and a bit of weathering. If anyone has any ideas on finishing the KT please share im open to comments and suggestions Dan B

Hi Dan, nice work mate! What ever weathering you chose, I would only suggest to match hull and turret with the same dust or filters to just bring them together a little.
Awesome KT!!
