Iain, thanks bro, glad you like the cM. As for the decals, I have a few myself, just need to pick one.
Will try to get the decs on today, then the chipping fluid and white wash.

Here are some pics of the steps taken so far. CM done using three of the CM 4BO paints from AK. The 4BO primer coat was used as the darker shadow color. Next a filter using AK dark slimy green. I applied two light filters again using AK products. Then a pin wash was applied using the same but thinker mix. And here she is waiting for a clear coat on the areas to get decals. Then another clear to seal them before applying the AK chipping fluids. A bit of overspray on the rear plate but I'm not too worried because this beast is gonna be caked with dust, dirt and mud. Hope you like it so far.

This is going so straightforward Rob ! I couldn't believe my eyes seeing it already in its green glory ! I like the shadowing/highlighting of the paint work. It's gonne be caked yes, but just one dirty wash will do to make the overspray dissapear. Let there be cake !

ok fellas here she is with decals and a white wash. I had started to apply other decs but they ended up falling apart as I placed them on the model. So that was cleaned up and some others dug up to take it's place. No idea what they say.....Z !!?? Next came the white wash. For this I used Tamiya white with a tiny drop of deck tan to tone it down a bit. I used the yellow cap lacquer thinner for a fine smooth finish. All that's left to do is the chipping, and here I've started already. It should be all chipped tomorrow, then onto some filters, pin wash and getting down and dirty. Don't go away, there's more to come.

I see, i see Rob. Maybe, maybe (its my 2 cent opinion, of course), strong chiping of decal, be cause is painted with mix style, lover part is hand brush, uppper with template. I lookin very long time for some realy "dirty talk" parola, but no hit. This parola in translate is "just" "Fascist bastard". Maybe something from Ballaton operation (Budapest 1944-45)? Maybe to try give as something unexpected? Again, its only my opinion, "what if in my head", work is great, i think is not need to say.

Fellas thanks a bunch for the kind words. The white wash came out ok with the new chipping fluids from AK. In areas where there was too much fluid came off to easy and was spotted, but the rest came off the way I had hoped.
Z thanks bro, I had no clue what it said. It was the only decal that was not too thick. The decs from KV kits were too thick and wouldn't look right.
I started a pin wash last night and today will be more of that and a filter.

The white wash looks as it should look, very realistic! Rob, you've thinned the white down with Laquer thinner ? Does the paint come off easy when rubbing and picking of with water ? For my BA 64 I thinned with water.

Thanks Chris and Guy
@ Guy. I normally thin my Tamiya with a water/alc mix. This allows for easy chipping / rusting. But for a white wash with HS it tends to come off too easy, for me at least. The Tamiya Lacquer thinner gives a much better finish since the paints are actually lacquer based paints. I wasn't sure how the chipping fluid would be and how easy it would come off so I went with the Lacquer thinner to make sure the paint was on real good. I did however remove too much paint on the barrel and went right to the bare metal in a couple of spots. This I think was due to the primer not adhering well. You can go with the water or Tamiya thinner ( blue cap) for a w/w finish.

Nice work Rob, really like the result of the whitewash. Decals are great as well. When I did the ww on my Tiger I thinned the Tamiya with water to make things easier. However I found that the paint did spray very smooth and clogged on the nozzle a lot. Will try it next time with the Lacquer Thinner as you did Almost weathering candy time ey Cheers

Love the whitewash! I may have missed it, but how does the AK fluid work? You brush it over your paint work, then start scratching and removing using it instead of water?
Love how this one is going....

Brilliant W/W effects ! Thanks for your explanation on the yellow cap laquer thinner. I like the very fine faded chippings as a result of your mixture paint/thinner. These effects are hard to get when thinning down with water, it's more like all or nothing then...my two cents.
