BJ don't try to use all that AK on one model like I did. Waiting Tony Yeah Tony, this is the part that I’m apprehensive about. This is where I tend to goof them up. I should get a gloss coat and decals on it this week end.

This weeks update, Gloss coat and decals are on, Not real happy with neither of them. I didn’t see it until it was to late, but the gloss coat started clogging up my air brush and left lumpy spots on the model. Most of it is on the lower hull. I was planning on doing splashed mud on the lower hull, now I hope I can hide the lumpy spots with the mud.

Lovely work BJ. Looks great with the decals on! Don't worry 'bout the varnish issue, it'll work out, and as you state nothing will be visible after the mud (heck, I can't see it even now ;D)
Cheers

Here’s a couple of teaser shots. I wanted to see what the weathering would look like in pictures. I’m just getting started on the weathering, and have a lot to do yet. Also trying some different backgrounds, I think I need to pick up some day light bulbs for my lamps.

Subtle weathering so far and I like that, the little tank looks nice ! The Tamiya surfacer in my airbrush causes blobby shots too sometimes, the viscosity has to be perfect for optimal spray results. I think we all know the splotchy problem BJ. Carry on mate, you're going well !

Thanks fellas,
67, what you are seeing is pin washes. I didn't do an overall wash.
Ken, thanks for the pointers. The reason the second pic looks washed out is because I had to use my flash to get things to show up at that angle. I stopped on the way home from work at picked up some different bulbs. I think they will make deference.

This weeks progress, still a lot to do with the weathering, but I wanted to see how its progressing in pictures. All weathering is done with AK Interactive products. Note the difference between the unfinished turret compared to the hull.

Go for it robbo........ Overall not a bad kit. The lower hull requires a little attention when fitting together, (mainly clean up the matting surface's) and the grousers on the turret are real fiddly. But it does build into a nice kit. Thanks Prof, I was getting a little worried when I got into the dust and straeking. But I'm happy with it.
