thanks once again fellas, bet your tired of hearing that eh.
Boo the lifecolor rust paints are the very best out there. The colors dry dead flat and most important, are the correct shades of rust. Stay tuned, I've added some more rust using the Lifecolor rust paints, and AK enamels.

Here is what I have been doing to add some character to the KV. I had moved the tool boxes forward to make room for the platform, as they would have done. By doing this, the rusty bare metal is exposed. These areas would not have been painted when the tank was painted at the factory because the boxes were bolted on prior....make sense right. The rust effects were created using thinned Lifecolor acrylics and also the AK rust wash. I also started on the chipping of the tool boxes, around hatches and on the front of the tank. Slow but steady .. I am also working on the boiler and the M26 at the same time so things are a bit slow at the moment.

Nice one boss!
Spud hit the nail on the head. looks just like bare metal that has been sitting out side for a while!

Thanls Spud. Yep that's the idea. Water would have been trapped under the boxes and started to rust the bare metal. Were rusty water pools will be a bright fresh rust. Didn't get a chance t explain that when I got the pics up. Those areas will get more weathering when I do the rest f the hull....dust and dirt effects. That is one area where dirt and dust would build up so we'll see how I can do those effects.

how would the boxes have been held in place because i see no bolt holes or welds? do you have a plan for that?

Hey T, thanks bro. Gonna try to get lots of color in this one. Can't wait to start the dust and dirt effects. The AK products were so much fun to use on the 152 I just have to do it again. Gonna get me some AM tracks for this baby.

Thanks fellas. Spud the marks are from a white grease pencil. I nipped it from the missus some time ago. It's for doing their finger nails ....or something like that.
