I'm planning sometime in the New Year,to start this beauty, but as a Mk.VIII,as flown by Neville Duke when he was with in Italy as a Squadron Leader. I may need some help in getting the correct,Lettering etc for his A/c. When I've worked out sizes etc,if anyone could help me out,I'd appreciate it ;D ;D

In response to a PM from Chris67,The ZX-J,on his a/c was sky?,witha white surround, that is what I may have trouble with doing, and the serial no......but these challenges are here to test us? Thanks for the responses,chaps....and this will be my underlying project for the year!!!!

Hey Chris 67,...sorry mate, but no I haven't kicked into this yet. .I want to do this the justice it deserves,by using my new AB for all the paint, apart from detail!!!!!As for decs, the only things I need are the ZX-J,and the serial no JG241,all the other decs in the kit, seem to be right for this theatre of ops.Haven't found any yet,but I go REALLY silly, and make stencils!!!! As an edit,I actually looked in the kit,and the only decs I'll need are the 'J' callsigns, and the serial no's,which I can print,If'n I can't make them up. It has markings for 145 Sqn(ZX),in the blue, not sky as I thought ;D ;D ;D

Cheers for the support chaps......and Boots......Silly question!!!! As for the decs, this is what I've got So all I need is the 'J' to match the 'ZX',and the serial JG 241,which should be the same type as the middle one on the right,I think? jackwagon you posted same time as me.....and I 'resemble' that last remark!!!! ;D ;D

Hi Gaz...thanks for looking in....and NOT taking the P*** ;D ,for once . I picked this up last year,£20 cheaper than list, thinking I could get a MkVIII out of it.This is not the case,so I've gotta go back to the drawing board,so to speak. I forgot that you'd blogged a MkVIII kit in the first place!!..I've been consulting a friend of mine(Melvyn Hiscock),who was a friend of Neville Dukes, who is hopefully going to help with the missing decs, but in the meanwhile,I'm looking for AM stuff to help with the conversion. This could be a 'Hurry up and wait' build BTW anyone got the MkVIII kit they'd like to swap??

Cheers Chris,I think I'm lucky...most of the engine is satiny black with some drybrushing, and the bulkhead and frame is yer standard XF71,with a few bits picked out for detail, and the air and oil filter are silver....Simples....
