Lovely Greif, looks very real! Don't worry about the hook, it was wrong anyway: you was using a late model in an early figure ;D

I still have the throat mic, satchel bag and a couple small accessories to spruce up the interior a bit. Ill add a bit of wear to the head set and a little more attention to the helmet. The details just add to the well-worn, realistic look you pulled off here! Nice one. Oh, and I think you should have said Richard? and not Nate in your above reply;). My dad missed Vietnam due to a heart murmur (probably good for my existence;) but my Grandpa fought in North Africa against Rommel, and I'm sure he admired him as well:). Cheers

Cheers Hi nate, Thanks for the heads up on my name error. My Dad lied about his age and inlisted to fight in korea. He got caught but got an honorable dicharge. He was 16 years old. As you said, good for us. He passed away when i was 14. But i have all his army documentation. And his discharge framed and singed by the president. Gary

Great job with the chipping job! It is always easy to go overboard but you didn't. Look what you MADE me to do!?!?!? The hobby shop had it on sale for only $20 as it was 'red' marked for sale. It offers has great details and comes with three figures which is good for 12 years old kit. Don't ask me when I will build it... ;D

Gary- I'd be more than happy to take pics of the sprues if you want. Rob- Not this year for sure... already planning my next two builds. Maybe in 2013? Remember I am slow... And I like to participate Group Builds and I see I have missed North Afrika GB... always wanted to do that. Maybe next time?

Hi Andy, I would love to see the kit sprues. I dont mind at all. We can trade notes/info compare and the like. Im thinking the DML would be superior to the old Tamiya. Not to mention you got it for a $20 spot. I paid $29 dollars plus shipping the old Bast*#d! Gary

Sometimes its great building Tamiya kits... a nice break from those Dragon with crappy instructions and excessive little parts. I will take pictures of the sprues when I have the chance and post here with your permission.

Absolutely Andy! There may be others interested in the difference between the two and could help them decide which kit they prefer should they want to build one. Thanks man, no rush. Gary

Now my favorite part... the figures. Not too sure if I will use the Rommel figure... I really liked yours because of the trench coat. What the heck?!?!? Captain Caveman can be so annoying sometimes...

Andy, Thanks a bunch for posting that. That kit is sooo far above and beyond the Tamiya kit. The seats with the Loop springs in the back, the radio, cushions, the fenders, heck pretty much every aspect is far better. One thing im pretty pissed off about is that mine didnt come with Captain Cave Man! And i paid more for mine! ;D You got a great deal at $20 bucks Andy. Oh, and your man cave, ROCKS!!! Gary

LOL! Glad you like the man cave...
Now I am tempted to build this 250/3 kit for North Africa GB here as soon as I am done with my current build Pz III K... I am set to build Tiger I Initial in September for a GB but I can always delay the start date. Gonna see how my summer comes out as I am afraid I will not have much bench time when a visitor from Denmark stays with us for a month starting this Friday.

Hey Gary, no worries on the name thing mix up Dad like most vet's didn't say much about his time in North Africa and Italy, except for one memorable Friday night when he told us a bunch of stories including how he was injured in Italy by a German MG nest and being sent to prison for two weeks for stealing a Jeep! I have his paybook, medals and cap badge, some of my most treasured possessions. R:) Hey Richard, Im sure your very proud and to have those personal treasures, those memories will never be forgoten. My Dads father Fought in WWI His name Was Earnest H. Boggs. He is in the Book Of Heros for actions in France. Dad always said he didnt want to talk about what he saw during the war. Id love to know the stories, but i understand his position on the matter. Some things better left unsaid i suppose. Anyways, Thanks for sharing that with us. Gary
