Baby Panther, leopard with flak

Hi all, just got back to the bench this week and got some modelling done.This is the Leopard (baby Panther). I have decided to do away with the turret and put a 43 mm flak gun on it and make up a rear shield for protection for the crew. I am painting this in the dessert sand colour set from Valejo. It is the transformation set which is basicly a modulation set with a different name. i have sponged effects onto the steel plates i have made up. Weld beads on the plate are from plastic sprue.

what a neat idea andy i think doing builds like these for fun are a great way to get teh mojo flowing.

hi guys, got the modelling bug back after going to the salisbury show last weekend. Picked up this little baby Panther again. I have painted in the tyres with grey/black and used polished steel on the rims. I added some shadow streaks in grey/black round the edge of the steel plate to represent burnt paint when the plate was welded on.I then added a pin wash with mig dark brown into all the detail area,s.Next when dry i painted in the negative chips with a windsor and newton 7 brush. I tried to restrain from too much. when dry i have added the darker chips with a sponge and the fine brush. Next up will be the streaking and weathering. i would have liked to try out the AK range on this but sadly i dont have them so it will be mig stuff and homemade washes.

Cheers Guys for lookin in.Well tonight i have painted the flak starting with the modulation set from AK so as to give it a different flavour than the hull. starting with the darkest colour i have gradually worked to the lightest colour in the traditional modulation style.When dry i have chipped it with Black/Grey amd then given it a coat of neutral wash from mig. when that was dry i added a filter in places of a red brown. still loads to do on the flak but it is getting there.

thanks guys for lookin in. tracks next so be prpared for a long wait.Every guide horn is seperate and need glueing on each seperate link. Will take me ages as i get bored doing that sort of thing. I am a lazy builder and prefer painting and weathering.
