Hey Andy!
Good fix on those decals. Amazing that the Testors colors matched up so perfectly.
Re: figs - do you have a full tutorial posted here? I seem to remember you doing one on FSM, but I don't spend much time there anymore. Love your technique and would like to give it a shot myself!

Gary- LOL! Laughter is the best medicine... that's why I like it here. Rob- Sorry I was having too much fun with my little tank commander. You should know I enjoy figure painting little more than doing armors. LOL That's why I would be thrilled to see others doing figures WIP anywhere. ;D Soon I promise! Dupes- Thanks bro! I didn't do a WIP... it has been a while since I did a WIP. I'd be more than happy to do it here next time I paint figures. I wasn't sure earlier if you want to see one too many pictures in my WIPs? Wouter- Thanks man! Does it mean you will send me some Duvel finally??? LOL Love LifeColor and Vallejo... for figures painting. I was so thrilled when I found out my local shop now stocks Vallejo paint. Little better than my previous tank commander... it lacked highlights in my opinion and the trouser doesn't look realistic. More practice it gets better... More to come!

Me too Spud! It takes a while to do figures. Maybe a week and half just for this tank commander. I did four figures last time and it took me three weeks. One of drawbacks of doing figures I do fewer builds every year... but I enjoy it anyway.

They key there Andy is that you enjoy doing it...and your figures are indeed improving with each new one, can't wait to see how they end up for this project.

PzIII is looking über cool there Andy Really good figure painting too! It's an art all of its own I think. I never got on too well with acrylics for this task, I still use enamels for a longer working time before they dry out. It helps to blend the highlights and lowlights in the garments. That my two peneth worth anyway

Guys- Thanks!!! Sorry about slow response... my deaf brother from DC was in town visiting for three days. Steve- Thanks! I used enamel when I first returned to modeling but switched to acrylic. Noticed a big difference... I created a picture showing all of my past figures I have painted over three years. I switched to acrylic for my fourth set... Marder II crew. And I started to use expensive paint brushes and they made a big difference too. Dicky- You got that right... it is all about fun! That's why I like it here! ;D MF- LOL Thanks! I'd be more than happy to do a step-by-step WIP on a figure next time if it helps and practice definitely helps too! Rob- Sorry boss! Like I said I had a visitor... hell, I am so lucky to have a deaf brother in my family. A lot of tennis and pool time... Can't wait to attack the Pz over the weekend! Maybe a pic of your new telescope will get me motivated? LOL

Ialarmu- I apologize for not seeing your comment til just now. Thank you for the nice words. Guys- Sorry about no update for more than two weeks... had too many out of town visitors but loved seeing them especially my parents from FL and deaf brother who I get to see only once or twice a year. The tank commander is finally done... I don't think I need to do anything more unless you tell me to. LOL Am not sure about painting pink on the cheek because of the winter but am afraid I will turn him into a drag queen... Tuborg is one of my favorite beer... had two left so I am saving the last one to celebrate when I finish my Pz III. Hell, I need some kind of motivation! Painted the details then added chipping using gunmetal and burnt umber. Am afraid I went overboard but I think they will be OK after few coats of dark washes. One quick question for you guys... My reference books don't show what if it was a pad or just a flat surface inside the tank commander's hatch. If its padded, then I assume its leather brown? Thanks for looking!

Nice work on the fig Andy, looks swell! And Tuborg...poooh ;D ;D
Chipping looks good to me, not overdone, allthough it's a lot of chipping I think it's still restraint, love it!
About that hatch thingy. I always thought it was padded and so I painted it in a leather color indeed. But I don't know if it really was though...
Cheers

Wouter- LOL! Looks like you are doomed now... Our boss Rob likes Tuborg too. LOL Thanks for the info about the hatch... I will go ahead and paint it brown then. I wish I made it more padded while it was still at its building stage instead of leaving it perfect flat. Boss- Glad you like the latest work. Trying to finish it before end of month but I doubt it. I still don't have an air compressor so I need to buy one. Glad you like Tuborg too! It got me hooked during my trip to Denmark. I wish they are available here in USA. Carlsberg is not even that close! Believe me I looked everywhere... found few online vendors selling Tuborg but they are always out of stock. Fortunately my "fake" son from Denmark who lived with us for a year as an exchange deaf student brought me a six pack when he came here last month. I told him next time bring a case or two! Don't we have a Danish friend or two here? Maybe we can work out a deal or something...

Very nice Andy! The split-style hatches had leather pads so it stands to reason that the single-piece hatch would as well and the few photos that I quickly glanced at showing open cupola hatches suggest a pad is there. Leather brown or black would be appropriate for it depending on your preference.

Spud- Thanks mate! I was worried I may have gone overboard this time. LOL I did my best to keep the size of chipping very small and realistic... troops riding on tanks carried sharp objects and their boots had metal cleats. I focused on the area where they would be walking or sitting on.
Bill- Thanks buddy for the info! My favorite 'bible'... Achtung Panzer usually have great info but sometimes they don't say what color or missed small details like the pads on single hatches.
Black or brown? I am leaning toward to black... it always make me look thin my wife always tell me.

Wouter- You are the BEST! I am going to call one of those distributors when I have the chance to find out where I can buy Duvel. Long holiday weekend is coming up and I am low on beer for a cook out. ;D MF72- Thank you very much for stopping by! Glad you liked the figure. Panzerman- Glad you like the Pz III K! Thanks! Thats why I am going to follow your build on that Pz III J with interest... love those Pz IIIs! Guys- Little update... sprayed flat clear to protect the chipping and the wheels have been glued to the hull. Tonight I will attach the tracks finally... My update may disappoint you because its not much but I am very happy to report that there has been a major improvement to my work bench last night. Old look... smaller shelves: New look... with my OCD, I can have all paint bottles on the shelves. Damn my OCD curse... cluster annoys me! ;D I have been phasing out MM enamel paints... Vallejo, AK and LifeColor paint is my preference now.

Nice work Andy!!! Waiting on the tracks now!!! I think there is hope for you though on the OCD end...Although the rack is outstanding and the organization factor has been improved and you should get a Scooby Snack for it, how did you let so many of the bottle face in different directions? LOL!!! (I live with 3 of them here....wife is a neat freak and my youngest is her twin. The oldest has OCD but to the other side....LOL....has to make a mess!!! ;D) Get them tracks on!!! You have less than 2 days to get her into the MoM!!!
