Hey all MSCers here is where you will find all my upcoming builds for 2013 after following the boss's blog in the rustbucket thread i liked his idea of having all his builds in one place so heres mine as a rule for me in 2013 i will try and have 2 builds going at once so it does not become boring for you all and for myself. Build no1: 1/35 Hobbyboss VK4502 (P) Hintern Box and sprue shot For me this was the first 1/35 Hobbyboss kit i have made and was extremely impressed with how simple the construction was this kit has none of the detail a DML kit would have but the kit gives you areas you can add detail there is 3 sprues just for the internals of the turret so for any of you cutaway freaks out there (not that we know anyone of that nature around here ) this would be a superb kit for that. I have only made a start on the hull so far and that was only 2 bits i have made a start on adding weld beads and texturing the hull the roadwheels had no flash either which made life a bit easier heres some shots of progress so far Dan B

Looks good. And 1 build is never boring. If I try 2 at a time that's just double the chance to screw something up

Hey all Heres some pictures of some progress made on the VK its 90% finished still deciding on using kit tracks which are of average quality or splashing some cash and purchasing some Fruils the hull and turret was given some texture with liquid poly and Tammy putty, I modified a RB barrel to fit in the turret housing a small amount of cutting and filing did the job i left the muzzle off as my ideas for this will be a forgotten relic that never saw the battlefield and was not finished. The rest was all out of the kit next up tackling the tracks and the smaller details then i can get her up in primer Dan B

Modelfreak: Thanks buddy i owe the texture technique to MX pressions dvd with Mr Wilder simple but effective not sure yet if she will be all rusty im still undecided on a camo style i like Migs VK with the oxide and panzer yellow the camo he used is in the AK 1945 ref book so i could replicate his scheme or make up a splinter scheme that would be cool Gary: Thanks buddy still learning with the texturing just needs a light sanding then it will look a lot better me hopes!!!! lol BML22: Thanks buddy hopefully can give ya a bit more tonight if the tracks go on ok might have a update later Dan B

Nice barrel mate, and love that texture, I read it on several blogs that people are doing it that way...I'll think I'll try it once ^^

Carl: Thanks buddy she is a bit of a freak not quite as a looker as a KT or panther but they were for tank busting and not for beauty contests!!! LOL Wouter: The texturing is the norm now but it can be misused and look out of scale its a tricky bit to get right practise on some scrap styrene 1st and adjust the amount of glue to putty mix this gives you a range of effects Dan B
