you guys are all awesome i am perusing all the builds and galleries getting some great ideas and insight on how to and what to . my visualization of finished car keaps getting modified as i see cool stuff in the forum and say ooooh ooohh that would look good on the car now how do i apply to this material and scale( its all fun).

it was a bugger just to find a pic and then even tougher i got dimensions and will take my 20 round flak mags and convert to ten rounders .

Went and bought some ston surface spray paint to experiment with for rust base? And liquid rubber to use as liquid masking? Let the games begin.

Found something at local hobby store called FAsmask in 16 oz looks to be the right tool

Wow, chipping/weathering in 1/1 scale! That sounds like quite the challenge! Not sure how Elmer's glue would work as a masking agent...all depends on the paint used I guess.

im open to any suggestions on any of this i am a rooky feeling through blindly on all this my only solice is your guys work and pictures and then try to aply it to full scale on a working vehicle and all that it implies ,any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated . any suggestions on what i did so far while the gue dries?

chris thanks ,i had got steal wool and scotch brite out but wasnt using them ,ill give it a go thanks i need to work the rust areas too not sure on that one yet either . thinkin i need toget some thinner and let it stain the areas and run ?? also the whole beast isnt going to be this severe with chipping but the boxes and side stowage bin will be

This is kind of ironic because we are usually always trying to go the other way...meaning scale-down an effect on a 1:1 vehicle to a model! So my suggestion would be to think along "big" lines and experiment to see what would work. Some things will work as "simulated" wear while others will probably need to be real wear ala the steel wool or similar. Since you're trying to simulate wear that shows through to an original panzer gray undercoat, that's going to be slow going but the box above looks like a good start to the concept.
