Rob, if you need reference pics of this type, I can mail them if you like. Is it a Dodge Beep wreck in your neighbourhood ? You have to give it a shot fella, the AFV kit is pretty cool, even OOTB. It feels great to know that I inspire a skilled modeller like you. T, ;D ;D ;D I believe I understand what you mean ... Wouter, a hybrid style model, how cool is that !!! Thanks guys !

Hey G, the truck is the old 2 1/2 ton , called the Deuce and half. It's Post Vietnam. There are two of them actually. The forest service not far from here has one that runs and is painted red, the other is still in military colors, rusted up and used for parts. If it's still there next time I go out in that direction, I'll take pics.

Thanks DickyF ! The hatch of the back was done in two colors. Not done yet... A wash of Light rust mixed with burnt sienna and burnt umber sets the pigments firmly in the carrier layer (oh yes my funny English pops up...again ! ;D A rusty chain is a must I think... There's more to come guys ! Best regards ! G.

Hello Guy, Greetings from the East of Antwerp ! It is as you said in the introduction -a great place to be... with very talented people- And shore you are one of them !!! I just read your topic (again) from A till Z... Somewhere one of the "followers" even mentioned "The Belgian style"... Well maybe i can explain the Belgian Style ... Just a nice topic to follow whit lots of tips and tricks ! And Yes ; the Belgian modelers don't use a 'specific style' but they use from every style a bit... Keep up the good work ! Hope we can meet somewhere ! Greetings from Belgium, Gert

Wouter, the concrete mixer got my attention on a German online shop, I just had to buy one immediately.
Paulh, thank you sir !
Gert, I look forward to meet in the near future, I've never met Wouter so maybe we can go for a beer in Antwerp and talk modelling ! I don't consider myself a talented modeler, but I never give up until I'm satisfied with the result. The really talented ones are here on the site and I enjoy their work each day I log in.
Dicky, I hope I'll have the set in a week or so...and start building it on the spot !
Spud, it was on a German online store (Modellbaukönig).
Prof, thanks mate, 'realistic' is a word I always like to hear (or read of course).
Tony, your Brummbär is killer my friend !

Gerald, merci beaucoup mon ami ! Your kind words mean a lot man. I'm sure this result can be achieved by anyone, in my opinion it's all a matter of experimenting, starting over if not satisfied, and learning from other modellers. This project for example was a study of mine on Rob's rust method. Believe me, these results can be achieved without having years of experience on the work bench. I recommend you to buy an interesting kit and go for a fantastic rust project, I'm sure you will have a lot of support of great modellers gathered on this site. So start a new thread and experience it yourself my friend !
