That's a real bummer, I've only ever heard good things about RB before. You could try a trick I've used many times on switchgear rods to straighten those barrels, get yourself two mirrors and gently roll the barrels between them, start one at a time then, once they are a bit straighter, all together. This'll not only straighten them out but give them all an average of the bend that you can't remove making them look straight when together. it might not work on brass as it does on mild steel but it may be worth a go.

I agree with steve, try rolling them flat. Otherwise you can always try to make new barrels from syringe needles of the right section.

So sorry DP, was really excited when I saw shiny things and then get progressively more depressed as I scrolled Down.
I'm no PE expert but I would try to stick with them as they gotta be better than the kit parts?

Guys- Thanks for making me feel better... I was not in best mood last night. The barrels are still OK... still usable. Steve- I agree about RB products... I have used them before and I have a box full of their stuff especially I love their MGs! I would advise you to avoid those miniguns from RB unless you are up for a challenge. I consider myself good in dealing with PEs and this is the first time I have failed... LOL Thanks for the great tip about using two pieces of mirror or glass. Never thought about that so I will try that next time. Luigi- Thanks buddy... the barrels are OK now as I was able to get them straight again using very fine file used for buffering and rubbed one against the rubber mat at a time. Boo- Hope you are feeling much better today? I am still a big fan of Mr Surfacer stuff and I will still use it for big jobs such as having whole body primed. Those Vallejo primer in eye dropper bottles would be perfect for smaller jobs such as painting the cockpit or interior of tank that doesn't have a lot of contacts afterward. That will take me few minutes to do. Much easier to clean up for sure. I am with you about RB and instructions. Why can't they at least post instructions on the website... it will not cost them anything. Idiots... so with help using Google, I found instructions posted by LuckyModel and it helped a bit but it was not complete. I think I can make it work... gonna get one of those template tools that will help me make perfect circles. Prof- LOL! No worries... I will make it work. Just be keen if you want to buy minigun from RB. I think it is not worth the money and time... hopefully other companies offer better products maybe in resin? Gonna look around... Guys again- Here's what has been causing the problem... instead of a round piece with SIX holes, they had three round pieces with three holes and one triangular hole. That odd shaped hole was the issue... every time I add a barrel, other barrel would fall back into the center. CA was not strong enough to hold... soldering may have helped but I don't have the tools and I haven't done soldering before. Once I master in soldering, I might give it another shot. I wish the folks at RB included five round pieces with six holes INSTEAD... that would have been easy and fun! So I am going to make two or three pieces out of styrene sheets and drill six holes but first I have to find the template tool. I believe Harbor Freight sells those... Thanks for listening to my rants... still no word from RB. They probably didn't like my email...

I'd buy you lifetime supply of iced tea even those flavored drinks. Thanks brother! Believe me I do love most stuff from RB I even have box full of their products. But I have to say about their miniguns... BIG THUMBS DOWN from me. I'd love to hear if anybody has successfully assembled those? Will stop by Harbor Freight and Hobby Town USA to see if they sell round template cutter... I can't remember the correct word for this tool. One you use mini hammer to hit onto.

Hey Andy! Just looked at some pic of miniguns to a feel of what who and where. From what I see you have one too many plates on the end plate that attaches to the gun. I think one of the six hole plates is to sit on the back of the center barrel stabilizer and the other at the end of the barrels attached to the flash drum. All the others look in the right spot. HTH

MF72- I REALLY like what you are thinking. Looking at many pictures I found on internet... it looked like they had two round pieces with six holes at the rear but it was difficult to look at those pictures. Like I said... no ferkin' instructions anywhere for this complicated build. Shame on RB Models for not doing this... Gary is going over there now to break their knees for me. No worries!
I can remove one and use it in the middle instead. That way I don't have to use one with three holes instead. Good thinking... maybe I can give it another shot tonight. Fortunately I have couple of shot guns that I can have loaded and ready to use.

Guess that makes sense, 6 hole plates at each end keeps all the barrels correctly spaced and those odd triangular hole ones in the middle somewhere.
A plan methinks...

I agree... wish I thought about this earlier. LOL That's why I love this forum. I think it will work. I can always make one round piece made of styrene as first base to hold the barrels better than thin fragile brass piece to start with...
Thanks again!

Sorry to hear about your woes with the RB barrels! As mentioned, they don't include instructions in any of their items. They are the main source of supply for Armorscale and others, so try there for instructions perhaps?

Deafbud doin' another chopper ey! Sweet! Despite the issues it seems you can handle it well ey bro. Keep it up About the RB stuff, bummer mate, though I must say I never had issues with their stuff before. The other company which Boo was referring too is Armorscale, basically the same as RB but with instructions, maybe you can check their site? Remember: YOU CAN DO IT BRO!!! YES, YOU CAN! ^^ edit: just read that Bill already referred to Armorscale Cheers

Bill- Thanks buddy! I think I have a plan to work with guys suggestions here to move the round pieces with six holes to the center. First I want to create one or two pieces of styrene to hold the barrels more securely than those thin brass pieces. Thanks for the tip about Armorscale!
Wouter- I am bigger fan of Armorscale products especially their commander antenna sets despite the fact they cost more. I checked its website and didn't see any maybe they felt it was too difficult to assemble those miniguns too. But will keep that in mind because I have another helo kit that has two miniguns too... a Blackhawk in 1:35 I hope to build next year. I like to build one every year if possible to keep my mojo going.... thanks buddy!
Leon- Thanks... appreciate it!

Guys- Promise me you will never mention those two words again... 'RB Miniguns'. I don't think I will ever want to deal with them again. More than 5 hours excluding the first attempt that failed miserably. Soldering would make things easier when I am ready... First I bought a cutting tool to make round pieces out of styrene sheets... With styrene pieces acting as reinforcement to hold the barrels securely because thin brass PE will not do the job. Starting with two barrels... All six barrels inserted... About the friggin' time... Two sets... Don't mention those two ugly words again! LOL

Prof- Thanks mate!
MF72- LOL! I knew you will say it anyway. LOL Yeah they will look much better once primed. Maybe need some sanding but it helps me when it is primed so I can look for imperfects. My eyes went crossed last night practically... never again! Maybe I should say never... I just love PE! Thanks buddy!
