I removed the kit supplied toy like hing and pin for the crew seat . The pe kit provides parts for making a box with the opening for the seat hing pin . It has something like 5 binds and looked like it would be weak when completed . I kept the pe hing opening and made the rest of the parts from scratch .The pe set has chains for use with the seat in the down position . I'm not sure thats how want it posed due to the 37mm canon positioning .

If you want to, you can look for small chains where they sell those bijoux making parts. They're much better than PE ones and can be posed as you like

The p.ee. comes with detail to replace the molded on plastic detail for the roof doors . When i sanded off the plastic roof detail a row of rivets went into dust along with the rest of the raised detail up there . The pencil line is were the rivets used to be .........same size as those on the cab sides .
Question , any ideas on how to replace them ?

That would be my suggestion as well. Love the added detail on the bench seat Carl, love it!

My vote would be the archer decals. They are printed resin on decal paper. Very easy to apply, and look great under paint. I have used archer surface details before and love them.

A dot of white glue applied with a tooth pick or pin will work. I used this method to replace rivet detail lost to sanding on a 1/72nd scale DC-3. Takes a little practice to get consistent rivet size but the price is right. Let the glue set up some before doing the rivets and the thicker consistency will make rounder rivets

Must be because i enjoy staying up late , sitting in this cold basement while the wife sleeps in bed .What the hell is wrong with me ?

The pe replacements parts for the shudder panels of the front windows has 2 options , either both open or both closed . I wanted one open and one closed . That meant cutting the pe parts apart . Of course doing that meant i damaged the delicate parts . I finally achieved a reasonable looking final assembly . Paint will cure the rest of the blemishes (aka screw ups )

If you cant figure out where the heck this view is from it is from inside the cab .

used to wonder the same thing when i would do the weekend madness thing or a twenty four hour build. would look at my wife sleeping and wonder when they were going to come and take me away in the nice wrap around jacket.

Hey guys this was my attempt at replacing the rivets .The pic makes them look better than they actually were . I say were because i sanded them off . I didnt have styrene rod the correct size to represent rivets so I cut stretched sprue into bits and glued those to the surface . The results werent real disapppointing if they had been in a less conspicuouse location . Up the roof they were too obviouse for me to leave on .I did try the white glue method ....as you can see i didnt keep those either . I found a set of Archer rivets and bolt heads at Sprue bros but they are out of stock right now . Until i get them i'll move on .

I tend to ration sociability myself as those that know me are aware of my lack of an excessive amount of this quality. They are not disturbed by this, indeed it's one of the things they like about me. Perhaps it's different in the Montana populace.
