The 'pin wheel' effect depends on the vehicle...some like the Marders or Hetzers continued to apply camo because the wheels were such a prominent portion of the visible side-on profile. Others discontinued it, so it's not a universal thing.

Finally to the point where I have the tracks fitted back on. Had some trouble as I broke both sides. A few nights of lining them up and letting glue set fixed that problem. I still have some touch up work to do on the tracks, but I’ll wait until I’m almost done with the build as I don’t want to rub the finish off while handling it during the remaining build.

Thanks Brother Gary!!! I started to document the track weathering, but the last steps went south on me and was giving me some problems. They didn't turn out quite like I wanted them to. But, I will let you in on a little secrete so don’t tell anyone…… I used just about every earth colored pigment from AK on them. Fixed in place with Isopropyl Alcohol as I didn’t have any pigment fixer. The Alcohol started softening the paint up under the pigments. I’m not totally done with the tracks yet. I’ll touch up the pigs, and burnish the high spots with the AK dark steel pigment once I get close to finishing the build.

That's looking really tasty, tracks look spot on and the wheels are great too.
I have tried so many times to achieve a look like this but on every occasion I have failed miserably, I guess that's why I don't do armour, leave it to the experts!
More please...

The tracks do look sweet John!! Sometime the curve balls you get turn out with great results. I try to use the opposite medium than what I used for the last paint work....arcylic paint...spirits for the pigs....enamels (not to often) then alcohol or just seal the poo out of them and use whatever. You can thin out some flat clear and it works rather nicely for a pig-fixer too!! Keep it coming buddy!!

Man John, this one keeps getting better and better! Nice work on those wheels and tracks...even if it wasn't necessarily 'planned', the results are all that matters!

Ok Fellas, This is where I’m currently at. Working with the tow cables and having a bit of difficulty, but have a plan figured out. I figured I would update before I spend the time today fooling with the cables. The side skirts are just kind of sitting in place so they might not be in the proper position. I broke one of the handles to the front hatches, so out came the brass rod. And one of the hinge covers for the rear hatch on the turret wasn’t molded completely. Fortunately, the un zimmed version was on a sprue, so I used it and covered it with epoxy putty and sculpted a Zimm pattern to match.

Got one of the tow cables done using picture hanging wire. I’m not 100% satisfied with it, but it’s as good as it’s gonna get. I also tore the PE screens for the upper front intake covers, they are very fine and fragile. So I dug around in my vast collection of “stuff” and made new screens from Bridal Veil.

Nice pair of saves BJ, always good to keep stuff like that handy for when you need it...you never know when it will be required! You'll have to set a double watch on it now that Andy's in the marrying mood.
