Hi Eastrock! As far as I know, the slat armor was not made from rods, but from flat pieces. Do you know this product?

Yes I saw that pic with the slat dunno if its eduard or voyager PE but if I order it now I would not finish the contest in time, since the shipping of the product always takes a month.

These cheek armor variants make the T-62 look way cooler.

Mighty fine job, ER.
But I agree with Mokush, the slat armor is flat. If you don't have the time to grab some PE, you can still flatten some wire to make it look like the real thing..-

You could also try to cut a plastic sheet to stripes. The model looks very fine until now... it deserves flat slat

Have to agree with the rest now that I understand what you're trying to replicate. The 2nd version is definitely a much closer version and looks good.

Thanks Guys!!! Komrade iking, not bad at all bro... did rework on the slat, cut it to length size to 4cm. since the turret need to dry, did some work on the hull, going full attention to the T-62: working on the light guard, I just use CA glue for metal, I might borrow a soldering Iron if this does not workout tonight Cheers and Happy Easter to all!!!

Thanks Bill, The CA glue works but I still need the soldering iron, might have to get one in the weekend for my own use need more secure fittings, aside I would use it on my MATV also. Modelling time out in the meantime, got hungry as much possible don't want to be sidetrack work begins sanding the road wheels treads to worn out ones, some treads are still visible not much damage will be done on the wheels but will weathered in crusted mud Cheers!!
