oh sooooo close now. todays update will be the last of the construction updates. i have spent about 30 hours to this point over the course of the last eight days. now i am down to 3 sub assemblies and a few assorted finishing parts. i am down to the body, the interior, and the chasis. some of the up close shots. the engine in place. decided to go without wiring. i dont want to screw it up. the interior shot of the dash. sorry only pic i took of the interior. i do see the seam on the bottom of the shifter. but then again on my s-10, similar shifter and there was a seam on the rear of it. and finally the body with some of the "chrome" and the glass. so provided i get to the bench tomorow i should finish this in another hour or so of construction. comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. joe

thanks for the kind words but.........................
sadly i have had a setback. i was taking it to get the finished pictures and tripped going down the stairs. the nomad ended up against the wall. there is no major damage but there is damage. i will have to do some repair work. i am just sick when i look at it so that will be a week or so down the road. or longer if need be.
we shall see .............................

thanks guys. other than i am about sick because of it.
this week started rotten, fell and rolled an ankle on monday, and ended with this. pretty crappy week as far as that is concerned.
the roof needs to be looked at. i might get away with careful sanding and then reapplying future. i did pop one of the seats loose, not sure how i am going to repair that. i also popped some of the pieces out of the engine compartment. the engine stayed intact though. it knocked both bumpers off and the front assembly. not really alot to fix but i am just sick because it looked pretty dang good.

Hang in there... don't give up. I nearly gave up on my Little Bird as it only gave me troubles but persistent work paid off. You can do the same and I know you have the capabilities to kick butt! It is still looking great in my opinion... you can always remove that window if it is ruined... often cars have windows down especially in the summer, right?

Love the 57's, especially the Nomad. bummer with the rear glass, but like Andy said, window down for the summer.

And add a lady in bikini... it always works! If you are not good at painting, figures, just give Mr T a call... he's the expert I recall.

Very cool kit and good work so far:). This brings back childhood memories for me. Hot Rod was one of the first things I read for pleasure and these old kits were how I spent a good deal of time as a kid!

well the time has come where i felt the need to finish this build. i opened the box and examined the damage i had done. both bumpers were off. the front axles were off. the radiator and battery were off. one seat had broken out. and the worst.... the scratches on the roof. first i looked at the roof. i sanded gently at one spot and it went away. relief.........it is just the clear coats that were damaged. so i gently sanded them and took care of the scratches. i then gently cut the body off so i could reattach the seat. then i reattached the tub to the body, the body to the chasis, and let it sit. when dry i reattached the front axles and the radiator and battery. when all was dry i reattached the bumpers. all told about two hours of repair work. i then used future and brushed on the first of the new clear coats. when nearly dry i repeated.....and then a third following the same amount of time. in the end here she is. she is moving on. thanks for following along. joe
