Evening all, What the hell is he going on about!! When I had a lot of time on my hands at the later part of last year I did a lot of reading and surfing the web for something different that would boost me modelling Mojo. It got to the point that I was just itching to build some stuff inspired by what I saw on the web. (there are some talented peeps out there) I realised along time ago that I could never get to the standard of the guys I saw on the forums I frequented so I'm doing my own thing if it works great if it don't hell I tried. So the point of the thread, I'm itching to scratch build some stuff!! Oh Disclaimer time, I haven't got an original idea in me (all my jokes are somebody else's) so if you recognise some of this stuff you have probably seen the same pictures. I'll try and credit the peeps that have inspired me. Now onto the start of the first build, Having been cutting the white stuff and gluing all night I'm beginning to think I should have put my mask on. I'm building an APC for a mate to paint up in a scheme we came up with a couple of months ago. So the lower mid hull and the mounting block for the running gear! Can you tell what it is yet? And I thought I could use the scrapings for radio or other fine detail stuff! Thanks for looking in and all comments and help welcome. Mack Ps For those following the Boxer thread I apologise for the thread dying off i'll be finishing it on here soon.

Thank you lads for looking in,
This thing is going to look like a heavy APC a crawler if you like. Its going to be for figures of 28mill or what the gamers call hero scale of 35mill.
This again is a steep learning curve for me but i'll make the box sub structures first then add the detail later. (liquid polly stinks)
Hopefully more pics tomorrow.

Gag, Sorry dude I didn't answer your question re sketches. I was working of a single concept drawing but things have changed. Chris, The threat of being nutted in the kneecaps is enough to break any mans will!! Ok as I mentioned earlier i'm building this for a mate to paint and pop on a base. So after a couple of months I make a humble start (first pic) Then I get an email with a photo of what he thought would be a cool!! First he said he wanted tracks the thing he showed me has wheels? Don't you just love yer mates when they do that. So I start again. the scale is now 1/35, Think of it as a future stryker type thing. Here's where I'm up to. Basic boxes to start the upper hull and I should have made a start on the lower hull tomorrow. mack

I've started on the lower hull running gear section, nothing outstanding or skill full! And the top on the bottom. Hopefully this thing will look brutal when its finished. mack

This post is a contender for the top 5 most pointless updates to a blog. Two hours of sanding and trimming got me to here. The top and bottom hulls ain't glued, It's all about the detail now. It'll get interesting soon guys I promise! jackwagon and Leon cheers for posting.

Leon and Garry, cheers for the understanding and support. T, The more the merrier, I'll be asking questions soon, so the viewer brain pool will be needed. Dicky, I'm sure my Mrs could do without the mess. Update time. I've been working on the upper hull tonight as suspension and running gear scare the bejesus out of me. I have to think about it and that makes me head hurt. This is the start of the reactive armour if you like , I just have to skin it with a detail sheet. and in place. Now some times mistakes lead to accidents and then things work out just fine, I was hoping to scratch the wheels for this but it'll take to long. So I thought I'd use the boxer tyres to get the job done quicker only to realise that I whizzed the hubs when I thru out the unused spru. I've found a road wheel from an old Mini Hobbies AAV kit and guess what! they blinking fit. A plastic disc for the hub cap and you wouldn't know.(unless your a tread head and know the pattern) stay cool fellas. mack
