Hi guys,
I thought I'd share this one with you!
Today was one of the two big annual shows that my club always goes to so I had saved up some money, boxed my kits for the table and was ready to go at 8am this morning - but a night of snowfall ended all that! John, who I was going to be travelling with said he didn't want to drive as it was terrible so he said he wasn't going. Mum hard my car this morning so I was stuck! Bummer!
Anyway, by 11am it had eased off and warmed up a bit so John and I decided to go for a couple of hours to have a look round. I picked up a nice haul but managed to get the new StuG III G (kit #6633) and some other bits. I only saw one of those kits today - and that was the one I brought! I was also going to buy the Nashorn but after having a look at it I decided it was going to be a long old build and the instructions looked terrifying so I'll buy that when I'm feeling more confident. Tbh it was expensive there and I can get it cheaper on the web.
The StuG is a real stunner! Plenty of PE parts and tools with some lovely moulded-om clasps - perfection! Optional side Metal Shurzen, Magic Tracks, a nice fighting compartment interior with radio details etc, a PE rear rack that sit's on the back deck and too much to mention. I got an RB Barrel for the StuG and also an RB replacement for the Panzer IV that I'm building (Starting next Weekend). I didn't buy any Friuls today - they are getting very expensive so I'm going to give the Magics a go.
The box art:
Other bits and Shurzen (I probably won't be using these):
Something I'd wanted for ages - a posh, decent razor saw:
I've been wanting some of these for ages - they look brilliant:
Other stuff - this 'Mig Mud in a pot looks excellent':
These flag kits were being sold - only a pound. You stick the Swastika on the thin cotton with UHU style glue, seal with matt varnish to stop the cotton coming apart and simply use a usual water/PVA mix to make a very convincing aerial flag. The guys selling them on their display table made them look excellent. The book was only £3 so worth a read:
A nice haul - I can't wait to start on this StuG! I'll be building my Pz. IV first then this!
Cheers guys
Ben
