Hello all, I finally have everything but a rocket fin made. I will probably be able to get some more 4BO sprayed in a day or two. In the meantime, I have finished most of the accessories.  Just in case anybody was wondering, I do have a picture of a Russian vodka bottle (from the early 40's), and it is black. That kind of surprised me. Hope to have another update real soon. Thanks for looking in. |

Thanks Leon. It looks like I will be able to get the rest of the 4BO on tomorrow. My boss has very kindly told me I can shoot paint at work.

Hello everybody, I managed to get the rest of Katy a nice coat of green Saturday. Yesterday, I woke up to this:  By the time it was over, we had about 15". I took the time I wasn't going to be going anywhere to add the shading to Katy parts.  I am hoping to have the highlights of this evening and tomorrow. More to come soon. Thanks guys. It is official: THE FINAL ASSEMBLY HAS STARTED!!!! I started with the launcher.   Andy asked me where I got the ribbed wire a while ago. I forgot to mention to all of you that I actually made it using brass wire wrapped with striping tape. When it's painted I think it works. Thanks again to all of you. |

I had another pretty good day on Katy today. I managed to get the elevating and traversing gear on, as well as the sight.    It really doesn't show in the picture, but the elevating screw is a piece of 4-40 threaded rod. I still have some touch-up paint to put as as well as some weathering, but I may have the actual launcher ready to install i n a few days.
