Mr T- Thanks boss! Figured I will try Ak first on one of the bumpers. Great suggestion about adding thinner to make it weaker... will definitely do that! Again thanks for the great tip!
Jeff- Figured you would be jumping too. LOL Thanks!

Robbo- Thanks mate! Will see what I can do. Guys- Quick update... the wheels are ON! And I liked the old tires very much that I had them glued on for good. Tightened up the ropes a bit to make them look better too. Little more detail painting then weathering is next!!! Off to a housewarming party now...

Dukw is comming along beautifully Andy . The Added details really are making this quakwer stand out . Not important to a land lobber but in the boating termonolgy the "bumpers" are called fenders .But then this being a floating truck driven by the Army who knows . Quackw on !

Not sure about this... added old tire as a bumper on the side. This is awesome. I have a DUKW kit in the stash that is screaming at me right now to get started, but I don't think it'd hold a candle to this. I think the tire looks pretty neat, and when you weather it you might be able to leave green algae or water inside because I imagine that some water would sit in there even after it was on the road a bit. Can't wait to see it come together with the figures Cheers #57

Carl- Thank you my fav Navy boy! I couldn't remember the correct word... now you have said it. Looks like my mojo is here to stay with me to the end... Jeff the 57th!!!- Man, you read my mind! Was going to add fake water inside the old tires too. Can't wait... you will enjoy this build very much. I replaced the wheels with aftermarket wheels from MIG if you are interested. And used PE set from Eduard which was very nice and easy to use. Stowage set from Royal Model was a disappointment for me due to damaged fuel drums. Have a CD full of great photos and diagrams if you ever need it as a friend here Teabones made it for me. Noname- You have to get them... the company makes cargo net too. I was tempted to get it earlier. Glad you liked it too... thanks! Here's the link to their company... owner Scott was very nice and helpful. They sell fenders for LCM, LCVPs, etc. Feel free to check it out... thachweave.tripod.com/products.htm

You sure you didn't let it sit around long enough to turn green with mold so's you didn't have to paint it? Looks super brother

Tanker- NO WAY! Nothing to be ashamed... I love dirty! Dirty mind of mine gets along with dirty builds better...
Luigi-I get energy from others so it helps. Friends now often ask me about my builds after seeing more on my Facebook so they seem to be enjoying my hobby too. That will help keep my mojo going... thanks my friend!

This may be taking almost as long as the total in service life of the real thing .. but it's worth the wait Superb progress Andy, the bumpers give her a real lived in look, they'll be great under weathering too

The new bumpers/fenders look very nice indeed, I love AM stuff that has a certain quality about it, looks like it's been crafted, and they fit the bill very well indeed. I love this build log, I'm working backwards through 42 pages!! That's gonna take some time, lol

Guys- Appreciate you stopping by... had a great day at the bench. Thanks to snow... will post an update soon when I am done dealing with small details. Luigi- LOL! Know what you mean... often friends are still clueless what modeling is really all about. Steve- I read somewhere it had an average life of a year so it means I only have a month left to finish it, right? LOL Thanks for dropping by... glad you like it too. Wild Bill- You will like those products too. Running around third base now... gonna start weathering soon. Dicky- Can't wait to see how they look after the weathering job. Have green slime stuff from AK on my shelves so they will be handy... I completely forgot to dip the fenders into tea first guess I was too excited to put them on. LOL Thanks mate! Dave- Funny thing I was tempted to get Landwasserchlepper so I can get that cool fender set. Pricey but it will make the whole thing look damn good. I think the fender set is $60... it covers the whole hull. Always good hearing from you... thanks! Ian- Am afraid it will not stay clean for too long. LOL Thanks mate! Gary- LOLOLOL! Guess what I am watching RIGHT NOW?!?!? Duck Dynasty! I am so crazy about this show especially Uncle Si. Glad you liked the bumpers or fenders too! Jeff- I hope so if I can ever finish it. Thanks for dropping by! Phil- Thanks for making me chuckle! Just stay around and you will be happy to see the result.

Digging the progress. Any thoughts on how to remove the fuzziness on the bumpers?

Marc- Beat you already... funny how minds can think alike. Was going to post pictures today. I used grill lighter to burn those fuzziness off last night and it worked. Of course it was nerve wrecking experience at first but it did the job. In someway it helped darken the fenders too... LOL Thanks buddy! Luigi- LOL! Know what you mean... appreciate your nice words! It is always good having you around. Darren- I agree... worth the money! Paid about $25 for them I think. I will not hesitate to do it again. Thanks for stopping by!
