I'm sorry I don't touch much plastic lately, I was very busy ....er.....playing WoT Well, I'm out of Tamiya OD XF-62, so I mixed XF-27 + XF-60 + XF-64 to obtain an OD color. Then I painted the stripes with XF-1 toned down with XF-52 Next pictures shows details I forget to mention before painting. The red arrows on left side point to parts which location is not clear in Dragon instructions. The next point to the lift ring, which are not mentioned in the instructions. The blue arrows points to drain holes made in the antenna bases I replaced the molden on springs of the loader's hatch for others made out of copper wire. I re-located the hatch ...er....latch? too The commander's aiming device is ....weird, it seem to be wrong, so I cut the leg fromone end and glued to the other end The 2 reinforces for the front fenders are in the P.E. frame, but are not mentioned in instructions Well, that's all for now. The fun part will began: weathering! Darío

Great news, Dario I'm lucky I don't like WoT. TBH I find it boring, so this isn't going to draw me from modeling You did a wonderful job, I like the camo and all the details you added

There should also be two "ears" either side of the turret as well. A late production M4A3 will have the turret lifting rings low down where you have placed them. The commander's sight and the fender braces are correct as you have them.

Dario
Looking at that commanders sighting device from the frontal picture and seeing the sighting angle I kind of thing the tall sight should be to the front. I'm saying this just from the appearance of the line sight as I have never seen a sighting device like that before.
The paint looks very good and I like the drain holes which is something I never did before until I saw Luigi do some. It makes me wonder why they put the dams around the filler spouts.

Dario
With a look around I can see that you have the device right and I learned another new AFV fact, Iv also attached a shot showing the clamp on the turrets rear.

Teabone the dams around the fillers were an attempt to protect the filler caps. That was before the Allies experienced the high velocity anti tank cannons of the Panzer Waffe.

Well, i finally do something with this boy. The OD looks too dark for my eyes, so I repainted using Mr. Zaloga's recipe: 3 parts XF-62 + 1 part XF-60. THen I added more XF-60 for lights and an oil paint wash to mark the recessed parts. A mix of pigment and pastels diluted in water/alcohol was used to add some dust to the weld seams. All is WIP, I will add more dust later, when the vehicle is glued to some base. Cheers Darío

Glad you like, fellas! The tarps are resin copies of some...Tamiya? detail set for allied vehicles. The wood box is a resin copy too. The ration box is a print from my computer, and the rope is sewing thread, not painted, just coated with diluted white glue. I'm working in a ID panel, for which i will use tin foil or draft paper I hope I can build something like this: 502-101airborne.pl/aktualnosci/2011/panele-sygnalizacyjne-signal-panel-al-140-b-i-al-141-b/Darío

Thanks guys! I finished this project yesterday. The final pics are in the GallerySome details not shown in the Gallery: The wood plank was painted with acrilics and treated with the hairspray method. The wire securing the spare wheel was obtained from a thin steel wire, previously burnt with a candle. The tonal variation of the OD was made with oils, trying to follow Michael Rinaldi technique (Oil Paint Rendering). Oil paint was used for the spilled fuel too The tarps and wood box are resin copies of some old kits. The ID panel was made with tin foil and the food box was printed in my PC The towing cable is a fishing steel leader, burnt with a candle, then painted with acrylic and rubbed with graphithe pencil lead The antenna was made using a needle for beads; the connectors are stretched ear swabs sticks Darío
