Thanks Luigi, just knocking it together helps me understand how it all fits a little better which helps when I finally cement the two fuselage halves together.

Hello chaps.
Humble apologies for no update, I have been on the hunt for a new motorcycle and that has meant much driving around to various places only to find that one persons idea of 'immaculate' is definitely not mine!
Day off tomorrow and a drive to Bournemouth which will hopefully put an end to this, then I can get on with sticking stuff.
I have done some work on her so will try to post a paltry update very soon...
Have faith, Profs wingy will prevail!

Hello chaps. Leon, cheers buddy, read on... Dicky, great to see you drop by fella, I know Wingies aren't your bag so I appreciate it even more. Luigi, read on mate... Ok, bike hunt concluded, fixes requested, delivery arranged, modest discount negotiated, deposit down. Back to the Wingy, engine assembled as has the bulkead it attaches to. Fit is nothing short of 100% although you do need to keep an eye on the instructions as there are two different Superchargers and choosing the wrong one means it won't attach to the bulkhead properly...as I found out. Pic of it laid up in Tamiya Semi Gloss Black, awaiting the Silver detail painting and a bit of a wash, bulkhead colour is Lifecolor Interior Green with a Black Wash. Trust me, I have done more than this, quite a bit of gluing of various sub-assemblies has taken place as well as a number of hours spent on the cockpit. Ok, for those interested, here's the reason for the delay, my new toy, a 1998 BMW R1200C, the same as used by James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. I am buying it as an investment? as over this side of the pond where relatively few were imported, prices are slowly but surely on the up. Delivery scheduled for June 4th... Back soon fellas with hopefully a slightly better update!

Nice and cool bike, Prof! Finally someone is doing this version of Tamiya´s P-51, and you even choose the F-6D! Don´t worry about possibly slow progress, I am the same boat, mate... Those resin parts really add some detail to this already fantastic kit. Nice start, will watch this for sure!

What a nice bike, Mence I particularly like that model, it has an aggressive and comfortable look at the same time. I also like the progress on the engine, Tamiya never fails

Looking like a good start, Prof! I got the same kit and I just cracked into her last night. My father-in-law's uncle flew one in ww2. I am trying to get info and photos from him and I was going to Model it after him. Which scheme or squad are you planning? I'll make sure I'll do something different so we can keep things interesting around here ;D You'll like the Barracuda stuff too. Look forward to seeing you build the Pony. Mine will be a long build as well because I'm moving at the end of August. Very very nice kit isn't it?

Hey Moose.
Yep, stunning kit, superbly well engineered which is why I'm taking so long, don't want to mess it up!
I'm doing the F-6D that you can do from the box so to speak, I reasoned it might be the least popular?
Look forward to seeing yours mate, I guarantee you will finish long before me!

Hello Mence, It's good to see someone else who "reads ahead" by working on later sub assemblies to see how every thing will fit down the line. By the way....you've a very nice ride there. People who ride understand why dogs hang their head out of the window at speed. Looking forward to more updates. Dave
