Thanks everyone for the support, as you can see I need it!!!!
right then fellow MSC'ers, work and home life is a nightmare but I'm finding a few minutes here and there
The tub and rear bodywork has had a coat of Halfords grey primer. then a coat of Tamiya flat red followed by two coats of Tamy red gloss. all thee now need a polish with ultrafine Micromesh before their final clear gloss coat.
I've started work on the rear spoiler, this is red, black and white so masking is the name of the game. Started with the black coz it'll be easier to mask this ready for the red and white.
The underside of the car if ready, semi-gloss black for the main parts, body colour red for the tub area and 'wood' for the plank. The red is a bit rough but I've decided to leave it rather than mask and retry Topside is far less interesting at the mo
The seat (sorry for the poor pic I'll re-take it!!). Flat black, and Tamiya details belts. these are easy but VERY fiddly to use. The tape is white too which means that the cut edges show against the red printing. Being vinyl it wont take paint either. Never mind onwards...
Wheels are a bit of better story, gave them a coat of Tamiya Titanium Gold followed by two thin coats of Tamy Clear Orange. This gave me a closer match to the BBS wheels than just straight Gold called for in the instructions, what do you think?
Finally, tyres.. gave them a spin in the drill onto some sandpaper to give them a used look. May have over done this a bit but the join lines run real deep. I've had to stop as I'm worried about burning through them
that's all folks.. till next ... month at my current build rate

Excellent work there Steve - yer work looks great so far fella, the red looks spot on as do the rims - the seatage is way cool too! Don't sweat it on the scarcity of updates my friend, we've all been there and when the updates are as good as this one it don't matter how often they occur! Excellent modelling sir
If yer think yer one in a million, chances are, YOU AIN'T!
Thanks MrD, the red is Tamiya gloss with a touch of black and orange to give it a blood red that Ferrari love so much getting any time at the bench is real tricky at the moment but I'll keep up the fight
Nice work Steve-O, nice spraying, color on the rims looks good to me! I feel you pain concerning the tyres, had the same issue and couldn't get rid of the seam completely. I do like their worn look 'cause of the sanding though
I wouldn't worry about the tyres at all buddy, the lines can be put down to a number of things and F1 tyres can show the lines even after racing. You can see the feint lines on these tyres.
And they're quite clear here too.
The wheel colour is perfect buddy, there's no decent 'gold' available and toning them to suit your needs is the best method for getting the look you're after and they look very close to the BBS wheels colour. Nice one Steve
Luigi, thank you my friend, yep it's good to update the thread, hoping for another one later this week. I've done bits but nothing worth a pic yet
Boo, thanks for posting the tyre photos buddy, I feel a lot better about mine now I think gold looks better this way, you can't see the 'gains' if that makes any sense. I just wish we had a large range of clear Tamyia paints to choose from.
Wouter, update? well not today I'm sorry Been too busy at work and now I'm sorting things ready for a 2 week holiday and visitors who will be house and dog sitting in around 10 days. Boxed up this one until mid- August, when... I'll give it my full attention and get her into MOM contest... Now there's a promise made to be broken !
