Correction - according to the manual, I have a T3i. Thought it was a 2? Shouldn't make much of a difference, I don't think. Will poke around their website and grab the appropriate drivers. Update! Finally switched back to JPEG operation and grabbed a pic: Now that I've done so, headed back down to the basement to start firing black primer all over this beast!

Neat subject, dupes. Looks like oone of Heller's better efforts, too. I'm curious to see your paint, should be good.....

Dicky - this is the first of my Heller kits that I've put together. It's certainly not BAD, but it doesn't have the finesse of a lot of the newer kits from Tamiya, Dragon, etc (especially with the very "floaty" suspension). I've got some more of their AMX-30 variants as well as a PILE of VABs I can't wait to crack into. Primer is on! It's kind of boring, though, just being all black. Will wait until I shoot it with NATO Black because then it will be less...uhhh...black. Nevermind. Pics sometime.

Wow, only been a week since I've been on, feels like almost a MONTH. The weather here has been complete crap, but it's still Memorial Day Weekend - which means tourist season starts NOW! A lot of my customers forget that every year and then launch into a "we don't have enough cheese" panic. Anyhoo, got some good stuff done today, and with all the rain forecast for the weekend, I hope to get a bunch more! First up is the post-black primer, NATO Black-added shot: After letting the black sit for half an hour or so, I grabbed my trusty Tamiya acrylics and freehanded the green and brown: Looks like I'm going to be doing all of the markings with tape stencils and stuff like that - think I'm going to throw down a coat of future to be sure everything stays in place. Should help against the battery of weathering that's coming up. Next is to paint the tracks, and start weathering the suspension so I can glue the upper and lower chassis halves together around the track bands. More soon!

Nice work on the camo Dupes! It's a sad day when a tourist can't get enough cheese on their holiday, the whole world comes to a grinding halt!

Bill - that's what they'd like you to think, anyway! But hey...sell more cheese = more stash. Dupes, thats a Fine camo job right there bro, very clean soft edges. What AB do you use? Well done man! Gary Gary - my old trusty Peak C-5 (gravity fed Iwata knock-off from bearair.com). I actually bought a "real" airbrush a few years ago - Grex Tritium TS - that mostly sits in it's box. I've used it a few times, but keep coming back to the Peak. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right? Todd - I thought about it some more, did a mental inventory of the walk-in in my head...I probably have enough cheese to keep you fed for something like 10-20 years (depending how much cheese you can eat in a year?). Shoot, just 40lb Canadian Cheddars x40 = ~1600 pounds. Should hold you over for a while!

Thanks guys! Trying to hash out how I'm going to pull off all the markings. Thought I had a set of Archer white letter dry transfers (to do the name on the side), but now I can't find anything? Will need to dig around some more...hopefully I won't have to order anything.
