Another Lucas, another Lybian theme Recently I got a Gaddafi figure from CMK [Czech Master Kits] in 1/35 scale. This little scene will depict a statue of the Libian dictator, a civilian and... a dog. Do dogs have an opinion? Why not... Here comes the WIP of the "how to treat dictators statues right" lol...
used materials:>Pegaso socket >spare cobblestone [resin] >Gaddafi figure from CMK >slightly modified MasterBox figure >and a dog made of white metal [cant remember the manufacturer, sorry...] >wooden socket, ca. 8 x 8 x 2 cm >white glue and bird sand [for the sandy areas] >hairspray... to seal the surface

Well. Im always trying to give my little dioramas/vignettes/modelled objects some kind of humour. Life isnt funny sometimes, but models and the modelling should be... I really cant tell you the brand. The dog formerly belonged to a beggar figure in 28mm scale [about 1/45-1/50 >> could be a puppy then here]. Either Weird Miniatures or Reaper. Andrea.... hmm. Think not. Anyways - it fits here. Just the angle of the rear leg had to be changed´

Next step - painting the statue. Here again painted with my personal "standard statue technique", namely Dark Sea Grey, Devlan Mud Washing and Highlights with base Color with some tiny bits of light green [here it was Vallejo Camo Green]. Important is the consistence of the green. The more liquid the better. All Highlights and moss effect are more controllable this way. I used a sponge here [from old Blister packagings]. Futhermore, my stash increased today. An Ertl Tyridium Shuttle AND an Emhar "Female" tank. Plus some lasercut flowers as a gift. Now thats nice, and they wait to be planted Here you can clearly see the created bulletholes [Proxxon + cutter edge]

Thx Andy. Wow, the world is so small - and by now you really can call it a multicultural Project. Lybia, Germany, and you... Plus an English guy who told a friend about the lettering shown left above. And he said: "It means 'Allah akhbar' ". Fits. Perfectly.

News... I used these colors... for the ground works. The lighter tones were applied with a aponge again. And it Looks like that now: Nice little detail - again from PlusModel is the rat crawling through a pipe. Next steps will be the cobblestones, a washing and somne stains for the statues socket.

Washing done - Games Workshop "Devlan Mud". Some greenish accents [moss] with Vallejo Camo Green - very thin again for subtle effect.

Sooooo.... last update for today. What did I use for the grenery? The following things: from left to right: spiced salt | an assortment of lasercut flowers from the brand Noch | MiniNatur grass Fixing the flowers and grass is Piece of cake - just use asmall tweezer and a tiny amount of CA glue [toothpick helps here too], thats it. Took only 10 minutes, and is a real nice touch imho. The pipe was painted with Humbrol Gun Metal, and athick mixture of water and scraped pastel chalk was added to create rust efects [far better than AK and stuff, sorry guys and gals...]. But thats a question of believe, I guess

Time for an update... The figure had been painted with Vallejo Dark Sea Grey [jacket] and Tamiya Dark Sea Grey [pants] - see the difference? ;)Paints for the face were Vallejo Mud Brown plus some White for the Highlights - everal layers. Eyes were painted with a tiny dot of greyish green Color [10/0 DaVinci brush!]...

Thanks Tobias... the face got the final touches - some Games Workshop Gryphone Sepia for the shades and a bit more depth [best results are achieved if you wipe it away while ist wet imho] - voila! Not the best picture, I know... Hope you can see the difference anyways

The figure is almost complete... Scarf was painted with Vallejo Fire Red plus several highlights [Light Red + White + Yellow]. Jacket got some more structure with thinned ground Color in lighter shades.
