"too much me ? " or to much ammo ?
If you asking is it to much ammo the answer is no Tony . I think it looks great .They had to re stock for the next attack , right .

Scrolling down I notice I left the "to" out Carl, already added.
Yeah but if they had to move where are they going to put all those tubes and boxes? There's no onboard storage in that machine.

Well ok then The decals go on the boxes tomorrow.
Since those things fired a lot of ammo they must of had a restock convoy running along behind them. The Flak 37 didn't take up as much room in there as the Flak 41 so there would be space to carry extra rounds.

Instead of Uncle Tony it's now JGT! Saves a bit on typing at least. I'm going to be the lone dissenting voice here Tony and say that I think the box crates as you have them are good, the single tubes as stacked look a bit unstable/unsecured...wouldn't take much to send that whole pile rolling off the edge. 8.8cm rounds weren't exactly light-weight (each weighed almost 32 lbs per this site: www.lonesentry.com/manuals/88mm-antiaircraft-gun/ammunition-german-88-mm-aa-gun.html), so you've got about 270+ lbs of ammo sitting there stacked at the edge of that platform, same thing with the other side more or less (assuming those crates are single round boxes also?). No idea what the max weight limit was on those panels but I'm guessing they had to at least support the weight of the crew while in action. These vehicles had to have ammo carriers (trucks and trailers) to support them, no way they could sustain any kind of dedicated AA rate of fire at 15-20 rounds/minute on their own otherwise when in full action.

If you're planning to put this one on a base Tony, you could just as easily 'stack' the rounds on the ground near the vehicle as a 'ready supply' to keep the visual interest. Just a thought!

Bill for lack of display room I hadn't planned on a base. The sides would all need to be down for action if a shell stock pile were placed on the ground and it's too late for that now. I'll burn some gray matter before this is finished. Greg it does have great prospects for a large dio. Tony lee

I'd have the boxes on the ground but if you don't have the space for a base then maybe reduce the amount of boxes on the model. the kit looks fab

Progress is looking good Tony as for the ammo i think the weight issues would suggest having it stacked on the floor great work looking forward to the end result Dan B

Dan if the 88 was called into action the ammo would have to be moved in a hurry because the gun base is so large. With the Flak 37 installed the ammo stored on the floor would be possible.
Smudge you're right a reduction is the only way but I would like to see the ammo containers represented for interest.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys Tony lee
