Will look forward to that Dan! Mr. M! Thanks mate, very pleased that you like it so far. About the schürzen...more weathering applied to them and maybe one or two using the HS tech and a very much chipped off three tone camo on it to create more interest. Not sure if that would work out though... Well, did a bit more yesterday and today. I gave her a pinwash using MIG Dark Wash and let it dry for a day and night. Today I started fading using the oil dot method: colors used are titanium white, a green, a very pale yellow and burnt umber. It was quite hard to get it right with the uneven paintwork. The top of the fighting compartment received some titanium white, primer red and burnt umber oil paint. I think the pinwash got a bit obsured because of the fading so I might need to re do it a bit. Cheers

Hiya mate, thanks a lot. After reading your comment and looking again at the photos, they are a bit bright indeed . I didn't use the lighting set up (using four daylight lamps as before, allthough I sometimes takes photos in daylight as well), but I think I adjusted the brightness settings in PS a bit too much. Probably because the previous photos were a bit too dark to my liking. Oh well, that's the learning process about processing photos I guess ;D. Rest assured though, the colors are like in reality ^^ Cheers

Thanks Steve, and thanks for the heads up, yeah, messing with PS can take a while to get it right indeed... Andy, thanks bro Well...did A LOT today...where shall I start ;D. * I started painting details like periscopes * the hull received some AK Interactive Winter Streaking Grime * fixed the tracks in place, the outer wheels are still a dryfit though, since I haven't figured out wether I'll be using mud or not... * tried a new method for the exhausts: painted them pink first (salmon rose and a bit of flat yellow), using both a brush and a spongue adding dark brown chips onto the exhausts, then a wash of MIG light rust...still not finished though well...photos I'd say ;D And last but not least, I made a start on the figs as well Thanks for watching lads! Cheers

T, thanks mate Dan, thanks a lot, but you should read the text as well dude , the wonky wheels is because of dryfit reasons ;D Hiya Andy, thanks mate, yeah, figs again ;D Steve and Shawn, many thanks fellas, I appreciate that! In between Merkava sessions I decided to start painting the IR gear for the JP. I couldn't think of an 'original' alternative to dark yellow, so it became ...dark yellow ;D. I was a bit afraid that it wouldn't match the grey and oxide colors of the NP, but looking at it afterwards I think it gives a nice bit of contrast I decided to add the mechanism to the upper IR gear so that it would move when the gun would move (like seen on IR Panther G's). It's simply a rod which goes into the roof and is attached to the gun mechanism. Of course, this makes the periscopes quite useless, but then again, it's a night fighter and I don't think one would see much through the periscopes anyway. Lot's to be done though. Cheers

I'm really liking this build, a lot! The IR gear looks spot on in dark yellow After all these would be made in factory and finished there, I doubt the crews would have dared to slop some paint over it... "Cock it up and it's off to the infantry on the eastern front for you mate" ;D

Rob and T, very glad you fellas like it!!! btw...I'm in a hesitating stage right now...I'm planning to add the mud, but meanwhile I was wondering... Although the schürzen looked good on the naked model I'm not so sure if they look so good now[glow=red,2,300]... So, what do you fellas think: Schürzen on or off?[/glow] Cheers

Hi Hob, thanks mate! , about the flammenvernichter: indeed, however, this depicts an earlier style Jagdpanther which was overhauled for nightfighting, though stock of pieces like the crew compartment heater and flammenvernichter exhausts were low in 1946 so these didn't make it to the NP, or that's my story on it anyway ;D I like you idea for the skirts, however, this one should be finished in a week or two and I don't have the time to make changes regarding that (brackets and stuff), but I like your input on this! now, did the skirts today: First I gave the items about three layers of hairspray, the cheapest one you can score suits the job! When the hairspray is dry I sprayed some paint in very thin layers on top of the schürzen and other thingies. Now, I found on the net it was best to use Tamiya paints and thin them with water, but I found out that it works equally fine if you thin the paint with the Lacquer Thinner as I always do. And besides, Tamiya doesn't spray that smooth thinned with water (well, in my experience anyway...) After that, I brushed some water on top of the schürzen and tried scrubbing gently with a broad flat brush, a tooth pick, and anything you can find really. The paint comes loose and some nice chipping effect becomes visible. I tried to chip some schürzen more heavily, and some less. Note that for variation I also sprayed one of the skirts in a three tone camo Well, that's it for now Cheers

thanks bro, that's a nice compliment, much appreciated I even had more time to do things yesterday btw ;D I sprayed two layers of Vallejo Satin Varnish on top and then it was time for some streaking. First: I used four oil paints: White, Green, a pale Yellow and Brown. It's not really very important which ones you use, but my main colors are always a white and brown one. I add the oil paint to a piece of cardboard to extract the oil out of the paint after that I apply small dots of the oilpaints onto the skirts: the whites on the upper areas and the darker one on the lower area Using turpentine or white spirit and a flat brush, I gently drag the dots in a 'downwards' motion (you should do this on things which are vertically, for horizontal surfaces you should try to blend the dots using circular motions - horizontal streaks would look very odd ;D). The brush is slightly damp, not moist (before application I remove excess turpentine on a piece of kitchen foil. this looks very messy, but no worries. Clean your brush, and re-apply the damp brush in a streaking way, and after several motions you get a subtle faded painteffect: I also painted the wooden block and the spade a couple of days ago, I put them in place now look at the convoy light on the left. It's not painted blue as often seen on models. Untill recently there were no real examples of which color the light had. But a friend of AFV Modellers David Parker apparantly found a piece in fairly good condition: when the light wasn't 'on' it was a very dark tube, and when lightened it was a kind of green (though much more fluorescent color than mine) And just a shot for fun Well, that's about it! Cheers

thanks Tobias well, did some more streaking to the plates, and testfitted them to the NP. Also, I weathered one of the plates on the wrong side, so I decided to leave it off. I added it to the engine deck now Cheers
